About this product
4 Dear Life, the fourth studio album from multi-platinum indie/alternative trailblazer Gus Dapperton, arrives via ALTER Music on October 23, 2026. An independent artist for the first time in years, at the close of his twenties, he felt like he needed a clean slate to find his musical practice again. The result is inspired by his life in NYC - DJing and dancing between clubs and bars in Manhattan and Brooklyn, settling into an apartment, building routines, and the community around him. Pairing dance-driven production with his signature songwriting, the album may sound like a departure from his previous work, but it's his most honest and grounded to date. 4 Dear Life isn't about escaping the world, it's about finding enough joy to live in it. The album releases alongside Standard LP on dusk vinyl, Indie-Exclusive LP on starburst vinyl, and digipak CD.

Vinyl LP pressing. 2023 . Alt-pop icon Gus Dapperton's vast and ambitious album Henge builds a new world - tugging the listeners between night and day, socializing and solitude. With nearly 2 billion collective streams across his career - the Warwick, NY native constructed the album with the concept of entering an underworld as the sun goes down and trying to get home before dawn-or risk being stuck in a time loop. Sonically the album delivers a contemporary eclectic sprawl, at times landing between 80's new-wave and 70's funk. Collaborators include Cruel Santino, Ocean Vuong, and BENEE - who Dapperton reunites with musically following their double-platinum viral hit InchSupalonelyInch which has amassed over 1 billion streams. Dapperton's music maintains the intimacy that made his previous offerings so resonant - including singles Horizons, Wet Cement, and Don't Let Me Down.
Vinyl LP pressing. 2022 California-based trio Heavy Gus their debut album Notions. Led by singer/songwriter/guitarist Dorota Szuta, the band includes multi-instrumentalist Stelth Ulvang of The Lumineers and percussionist Ryan Dobrowski of Blind Pilot. The band took shape during the pandemic when songwriting couple Uvlang and Szuta (a marine scientist who also has a background in music playing with Laura Gibson and Gill Landry) took a socially distanced road trip to Nashville - picking up Dobrowski in Colorado along the way - to record at The Creative Workshop. The resulting collection of songs blur the lines between grungy garage band fare, hazy desert surf, and dreamy, sun-soaked indie rock. Their debut offering calls to mind everything from Meat Puppets and The Breeders to Yo La Tengo and Acetone in it's artful balance of hope and fatalism, loneliness and desire, strength and vulnerability.
