Guster - Look Alive - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Ocho Mule Records, Guster's own tag, and Nettwerk Music Group are thrilled to Guster's most vibrant album yet, EVERMOTION. Produced by Richard Swift (The Shins, Foxygen, Stereolab), the album bulldozes inhibitions, propelling the band to a harder-charging, more freewheeling sound as heard on lead single, 'Simple Machine.' Packed with tight hooks, muscular guitar riffs, clanging percussion and surprisingly dark lyrics, the new album features adventurous turns on slide guitars, brassy trumpets and a glockenspiel, with sax and trombone accompaniment.

Some of the greatest works ever composed were conceived for and inspired by keyboard instruments. Today, however, the splendor of the canonical works for keyboard instruments composed after 1600 - Bach's Preludes and Fugues, Beethoven's Sonatas and Chopin's Nocturnes - tends to overshadow works composed earlier, despite there being a rich history of repertoire and a variety of instruments at that earlier time. Corina Marti here not only explores the earliest keyboard music to be composed in Europe but also provides a fascinating insight into a world of virtuoso players and the music composed for them, playing a selection of instruments that are hardly known today a metal-stringed clavisimbalum (an early form of harpsichord), an upright gut-stringed claviciterium, two organetti (portative organs) of different sizes, and the church organ in Altenbruch in northern Germany with it's array of original pipes that date from the fifteenth century.

2021 . Alfa Mist is one of the driving forces behind a young and vibrant scene of UK musicians, who've taken on jazz as their musical narrative. On his new album Bring Backs the producer, self-taught pianist and rapper takes us on a sonic trip back to his beat-making past on the streets of East London, through the depth and musicality he discovered composing and playing jazz. 2017 saw the of Alfa's breakthrough record, Antiphon and the 2019's album Structuralism were both self-released on his Sekito tag. His latest endeavour, 2021's Bring Backs, sees Alfa taking on new challenges. The record marks his first for the tag Anti and is also the most detailed exploration of his upbringing in musical form.
