About this product
The Haida Greystone 1.8 6-Stop Multi-Coated Neutral Density Filter is an essential tool for photographers seeking to enhance their creative capabilities. This circular ND filter boasts a 64x filter factor, delivering a substantial 6-stop exposure reduction. By introducing a 1.8 density, it effectively darkens the entire image, enabling photographers to experiment with wider apertures or slower shutter speeds than typically possible. This feature is particularly beneficial for achieving stunning effects like motion blur or shallow depth of field in bright lighting conditions.Crafted from high-quality optical glass, this neutral density filter ensures exceptional clarity and color fidelity, preserving the true essence of your images. The filter is encased in a thin, aluminum-alloy ring, which not only minimizes the risk of vignetting but also maintains a lightweight and durable structure, making it a reliable choice for both amateur and professional photographers. The multi-coating on the glass surface is designed to combat internal ghosting and reflections, enhancing image quality by maintaining sharpness and contrast. These coatings also provide additional protection to the filter substrate, ensuring it remains clean and free from scratches or smudges longer than uncoated alternatives. For added convenience, the Haida Greystone ND filter features front filter threads, allowing seamless integration with other filters. This compatibility makes it an ideal choice for photographers looking to stack filters for more complex effects without compromising image quality. Neutral density filters like this one do not alter the coloration of your images, making them perfect for pairing with other filters to achieve your desired photographic outcomes. By manipulating exposure time or aperture settings, you can effortlessly control depth of field and convey movement, adding a dynamic element to your photography.
