Half-Handed Cloud - Flying Scroll Flight Control - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

John Ringhofer, the man behind Half-Handed Cloud, is as joyful and frugal as his music. An economical thinker, Ringhofer prefers the subway over a taxicab, is a recycler of plastic, a compulsive note-taker, and a habitual optimist. Half-Handed Cloud started as a home-recording project in Chattanooga, TN in 1999. Ringhofer was later based in the California Bay area for over a decade (where he worked as a part-time custodian) before moving with his young family to Helsinki, Finland in 2015 for his wife's linguistics research. Half-Handed Cloud is able to ensconce complicated theological concepts into catchy and sublime playground songs that refuse to condescend to it's subject or it's listener. Album Tracks 1. This second volume of Peter Donohoe's Haydn Keyboard Works series brings together a wide-ranging selection of sonatas, partitas, capriccios and fantasias spanning almost the composer's entire career. From the early Partita in G major to the dramatic B minor Sonata and the late works of the 1780s, the programme traces both Haydn's stylistic development and the evolution of the keyboard itself. Folk-inspired pieces such as the Capriccio in G major and the Fantasia in C major sit alongside sonatas of elegance, wit and expressive depth. Donohoe's clarity, rhythmic vitality and architectural insight illuminate Haydn's invention and craftsmanship throughout.

With hints of fitness music and video game sountracks, InchHalos & LassosInch tromps through nineteen songs like a mostly sunny afternoon in Berkeley, CA, home of band leader John Ringhofer. With the modal purity of Moondog, symphonic elements of Gershwin's InchRhapsody in BlueInch, and the ancient art of punning, the album boasts pop melodies arranged around the ambidextrous Omnichord - a vintage 80's kidney-shaped electronic autoharp/drum machine/synthesizer. Biblical allusions, sophisticated theology, and lyrical displays of affection are measured by Ringhofer's indelible sense of humor. Album Tracks 1. Earth Outside of Ghost Will Only Be Quicksand 2. Tongues That Possess the Earth Instead 3. Foot on the Brake 4. Suit of Clouds to Ride the Skies 5. Praise Awaits You 6. Rise to the Heavens on Evaporation 7. A Picnic Few Want to Attend 8.
