Half Moon Run - Blemish In The Great Light - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2020 . The Lone Bellow's album Half Moon Light is replete with the trio's signature powerhouse harmonies, passionate performances, and honest songwriting. The 15-track album touches on personal topics like family, loss, overcoming struggle, and letting things go. The band expertly traverses several moods throughout the record, going from gentle, soothing lows to enormous, sweeping highs, and their musicianship shines through in each and every track.

2015 . The follow up to their first album, Dark Eyes (2012), Sun Leads Me On eschews the alt-folk melancholia of it's predecessor in favor of a collective voyage of personal self-discovery. From the quaint downtempo cooing of InchWarmest RegardsInch to the dark, danceable synthesizers of InchTrustInch via the Bob Dylan-esque pluckiness of InchDevil May Care,Inch it's a more diverse, spacious and balanced album. Video for single InchTurn Your LoveInch was directed by Jean-Marc Vallée. The album also includes InchWarmest RegardsInch, InchIt Works Itself OutInch, InchI Can't Figure Out What's Going OnInch, InchHands In The GardenInch, InchSun Leads Me OnInch and more.

This time it's their first jazz entry that has golden warmth of a Blue Note from it's heyday as well as visceral instruments presence of a Contemporary Records. Recorded in Cammilleri concert hall using only a vintage tube stereo microphone, the sound of the CD is creamy like butter while the texture is so rich that you can easily discern which parts of the drum set the player hits and rubs. The big crescendo on 'For Andrew' is mind blowing!
