Overall value for money. Had to replace the jar base couple of times as it will break with mild usage. Not sturdy and the replacement cost is high.

First time parent here so the sound shield was THE reason I bought this. I was skeptical at first, thinking a little plastic shield wouldn't make any difference and that I'd end up exchanging it for something else, but I can honestly say I am impressed. While it doesn't put the blender on mute (and I wouldn't expect it to) I'd estimate about 50-75% of the noise is muffled out. Not only does it reduce the overall noise, it dampens the sound which makes it more of a hum like an oversized fan rather than a terrible, grinding roar. Even using the pulse feature to crush the ice the noise was kept at a fairly consistent level which makes a huge difference. I keep a fan running for air circulation for the baby; as long as the door is shut I should have no trouble running the blender while the baby snoozes. Now to enjoy some homemade frappe coffee! ... right after this next bottle feeding.

This is a good blender. It does reduce the sound a bit lower than a normal blender, but it is not whisper quite. All in all it does what it does - blend, with some noise reduction.

The hard gray plastic on the other side of the blade shredded. I used the blender appropriately. This was a big waste of money.
