Hans Richter-Haaser - Piano Concerto 5: Emperor - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Double vinyl LP pressing. Life Rhythm Live showcases Wolfgang Haffner's dynamic drumming and fresh takes on his acclaimed album, recorded during his vibrant tour. Wolfgang Haffner's Life Rhythm Live brings to life the immersive energy and rhythmic brilliance of his tour, transforming the studio recordings into a powerful, in-the-moment experience. Known for his ability to shape music from the drums rather than simply showcasing virtuosity, Haffner once again defies expectations. His masterful touch allows the groove to lead, creating a deep musical dialogue between melody and rhythm. The studio album Life Rhythm, released in 2024, stemmed from Haffner's ongoing exploration of how the drum set can be more than just a rhythm instrument. He drew inspiration from his solo concert at Schloss Elmau, where he experimented with percussion loops and live effects, essentially treating the stage like a studio. The live performances of Life Rhythm expand upon this concept, with the trio of Haffner, keyboardist Simon Oslender, and bassist Thomas Stieger forming a tight core, enriched by guest appearances and unexpected additions to the setlist.
