Hara - Survival Mode - Clear Vinyl - VINYL LP

An essential document of European jazz in the 1970s, and a recording that still sounds magnificent today, Balladyna exerted an enduring influence on successive generations of improvising musicians - in Poland and Finland above all, though it also cast it's spell more widely. As Tomasz Stanko once said, InchMy international name was built on Balladyna.Inch The quartet explores the seven originals on the album with a strong sense of rhythmic propulsion and melodic curiosity throughout. Recorded at Tonstudio Bauer in 1975, Balladyna was produced by Manfred Eicher.

This power trio from Down Under dominated Australian airwaves and charts in 1998 with it's breakthrough double-sided hit InchSecond SolutionInch/InchPrisoner of SocietyInch and their melodic pop/punk self-titled album. The Living End not only debuted at #1 on the charts but was quickly certified platinum in it's homeland. Carrying on the raucous spirit of the Clash and the attitude of Green Day, spiced up with a dash of rockabilly, The Living End is just beginning. Be there.

The third full-length album from Boston-based trio Palehound, Black Friday is a finespun exploration of all the forms that love can take love between friends, love for people no longer in your life, love in the face of self-hate, love that endures through major life changes or through many tiny catastrophes. With her thoughtful narrative voice, Palehound singer/songwriter Ellen Kempner imbues each song on the album with a radical sensitivity, an unchecked depth of feeling that ultimately sparks a greater open-heartedness within the listener. Co-produced by Kempner and Gabe Wax (Beirut, Soccer Mommy), Black Friday was recorded at Panoramic House in Stinson Beach, California throughout late 2018. The trio tracked most of the songs live, which introduced a new vitality into the band's elegantly detailed sound. With Black Friday building off the emotional complexity of it's predecessor (2017's A Place I'll Always Go), Palehound hope that the album might help others to work through their own troubles in life and love of all kinds.
