Electro-Harmonix Hell Melter Advanced Metal Distortion Pedal. Summon cult-classic, high-gain heavy metal tones! With its take on the cult-classic chainsaw distortion pedal, the EHX Hell Melter pushes distortion to the extreme. Expanded controls and tonal capabilities allow the already aggressive sound to broaden with open clipping options and boosted internal voltage for increased headroom, reduced compression, and more attack. Originally designed for ultimate high-gain tone, this circuit is famous for the death metal sounds of Sweden’s Entombed, the shoegaze wash of My Bloody Valentine, and even appears in David Gilmour’s rig. The Hell Melter features Gain and Level controls, an active EQ with parametric mids, a Dry level control for blending input signal, a noise gate, and Normal/Burn modes for vintage chainsaw or modern open clipping tones.
