Electro-Harmonix Pico Deep Freeze Sound Retainer / Sustainer Pedal. Expanded Freeze in a pico-sized package! Sitting between the original Freeze and Superego pedals, the Pico Deep Freeze can instantly freeze a moment in sound, acting as a sustain pedal to hold chords and notes as a backing layer or as a platform to transform your tone into new, experimental textures. In addition to the original Freeze’s capabilities, the Deep Freeze adds layering, adjustable attack/decay speeds, glissando, dedicated DRY and EFFECT volume controls, and three operation modes: Latch, Moment, and Auto. Latch mode freezes sound with a tap until bypassed, Moment mode sustains only while the footswitch is held, and Auto mode automatically freezes new sounds when it detects signal above a threshold, allowing virtually hands-free operation. GLISS controls morph time between frozen sounds for smooth transitions, while SPEED/LAYER adjusts fade times in Moment and Auto modes or controls layering in Latch mode, enabling even impossible chord combinations.
