Hayden,Bridget / Apparitions - Cold Blows The Rain - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Despite starting out life as a one-man band, Devil's Witches has since gone on to build a following and fanbase as incredible as their sold-out back catalogue of unique vinyl releases.Never one to play by the rules, original founder and mysterious multi-instrumentalist, Witchdoctor General, has welcomed a number of honorary members into his coven over the years. Yet on the business side of things, few friendships have proven as fruitful as the one the band has with Majestic Mountain Records.Following on from Devil's Witches collaboration on a special 12Inch split with Saint Karloff in 2019, and the limited-edition Record Store Day of Guns, Drugs and Filthy Pictures, the Swedish tag will once again take the reins on a reissue campaign of the band's seminal debut, Velvet Magic.

Bridget Hayden and The Apparitions / Bridget Hayden is a soul who found a home among the hills of Todmorden, the oddly-named market border town in West Yorkshire. The experimental musician, who invites the ghosts in for the classic folk songs that make up her stunning new album, knows only too well about the wind and rain, fog and mist, how rare and treasured the breaks from it are. Her favorite thing to do in the valley, she says, is Inchto make the most of every tiny minute of sunshine.Inch The reinterpreted traditional folk songs that make up Cold Blows the Rain are shaped by the land and the weather. Wrapped in mist and drizzle, the crawling drone of low heavy clouds on flat-top moors. The sound of the dark Calder Valley floor and sun starved hills in West Yorkshire in the North of England.

Following his recent heroic Met debut as Hermann in Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades, Arsen Soghomonyan makes his solo recording debut for Delos. A fast-rising figure in the dramatic repertoire, the Armenian tenor has enjoyed success at major opera houses such as Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro di San Carlo, Bolshoi Theatre and Staatsoper Wien. In his album Bridges of Voice and Soul, Arsen lends his powerful voice to some of the greatest Italian arias; InchNessun dormaInch and InchE lucevan le stelleInch by Puccini, Verdi's InchNiun mi temaInch and InchVesti la giubbaInch by Leoncavallo are some of the delights that comprise this operatic feast, enlivened by the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra and conductor Constantine Orbelian.
