Hayes Carll - Alone Together Sessions - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2021 . Country singer/songwriter Hayes Carll returns with his eighth album You Get It All, produced by Allison Moorer and Kenny Greenberg. Carll's talent for storytelling and creating compelling lyrical narratives shines through as brightly as ever, and You Get It All exemplifies his ability to span a wide range of musical styles while staying true to himself. Featuring songs co-written by Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, and Sean McConnell, You Get It All is both heartbreaking and lighthearted, a combination that Carll has honed on his records throughout his entire career.

New York quartet Sunwatchers drew a line in the sand with their last album InchIIInch, a powerful statement of the band's unique brand of spiritual, free-rock, gonzo attitude and a progressive socio-political worldview. InchIllegal MovesInch is their second album for Trouble In Mind. InchIllegal MovesInch is the band's most potent blend yet; a heady potion of free-jazz, psychedelia, punk & noise rock that is both tender and ferocious; the perfect soundtrack to smash capitalism and fix our broken system thru sonic catharsis and revolution. Songs like InchEverybody PlayInch and InchBeautiful CrystalsInch insinuate themselves into your brain with the rubbery synchronicity of bassist Peter Kerlin and drummer Jason Robira. Elsewhere InchNew Dad BluesInch and InchGreeneyed Pigmen (Get The Blade)Inch sting with a righteous fury beyond the piercing scree of guitarist Jim McHugh's electric phin or Jeff Tobias' saxophone skronks, and the band's cover of Alice Coltrane's InchPtah, the El DaoudInch transforms her meditative elegy into a fiery protest march. The songs crackle with an energy informed by passionate disgust of the status quo realized on the album cover's illustration of the Kool-Aid Man battling the personifications of evil from across the world. A psychedelicized avatar for the general wrath and action that they believe in.Inch

Hayes Carll will his 9th studio album, We're Only Human, on August 8 on his own Hwy 87 Records tag via Thirty Tigers. In a world fueled with instant gratification and distractions pulling our attention in every direction at once, it is easier than ever to silence the voices in our head that beg us to just sit and listen for a second - to face ourselves for who we are and begin the slow, often painful process of accepting our past and moving forward. At it's heart, this record delves into what it means to be human-the emotions, struggles, and growth that come with it-while reminding us to extend grace to ourselves and others along the way.
