- Description: Singer/songwriter Heather Larkin hails from the Midwest where she was weaned on southern rock, blues and country rock & roll, all of which are evident on her self-penned debut CD. After much theater, film, and TV work, Heather moved to the Big Apple to further her acting career. But after a breakup left her unable to play the songs she had co-written with her guitar-playing ex-boyfriend, she quickly discovered that her true passions were in music! She learned a few chords and in short order began busking on New York City's subway platforms. Open mics came next which led to her own acoustic gigs in coffee shops and small clubs. Along the way, Heather met many amazing musicians and eventually settled on a core group of players with whom she performed at such legendary clubs as CBGB's, Arlene's Grocery and Don Hill's. She has shared the stage with guitarist Felicia Collins (The Letterman Band) and drummer Thommy Price (Joan Jett & the Blackhearts), among others. Now based in Nashville, TN, Heather's blues-tinged voice is perfectly complimented by her songwriting style, which blends candid story-telling lyrics with country-rock riffs. Her authenticity has invited comparisons to Patti Smith and vocal ability to Pat Benatar, but Heather maintains she's more like a rowdy Sheryl Crow! Album Tracks 1. The Waitress Song 2. I Admit 3. Cowardly Man 4. Human Race 5. Get Me Some
