Heavens to Betsy - These Monsters Are Real - 7-INCH SINGLE [7 inch Vinyl Disc]

Limited seven inch red vinyl pressing. 2016 debut knockout single from vocalist Björn Strid (Soilwork, The Night Flight Orchestra) and Punktus (Truten, Full Rudy). A dirty, rough still classic melodic rock n' roll tune that makes you wanna get up and move. The song is about the frustration of not fitting into people's narrow expectations of you. The strong energetic vocals will instantly make this catchy song your favorite party starter. In a hazy world filled devilish crooks and slithering celebrities, a single figure emerges from the thunderous hill-top laboratory of rock and roll. Powered by frenzied lightning and soaring madness, it's howl awakens the meek and frightens the bold, and though it's muscles are taut with deformity and decay, you must remember that it's not a bad thing.

The first thing that strikes you is the rhythm. The Gossip have been making punks dance since they debuted 5 years ago, long before dance punk existed. Soulful and jagged, you can hear everything from Dischord to Motown in Brace's playing. Now, with the addition of new drummer Hannah Blilie (Shoplifting, ex-Chromatics) they have a new thundering beat for the kids to dance to on the corners and in the clubs. The next thing that smacks you is Beth's voice, all the guttural blues of the South is in that inimitable instrument. It resonates with the confidence that is in her lyrics asking people to hold on just a little bit longer, re-assuring the youth that there are others out there, and spitting in the face of all who say otherwise! InchStanding in the Way of ControlInch, their third album, was recorded by Guy Picciotto (Fugazi) at Seattle's Bear Creek. From heartbreakers like InchCoal to DiamondsInch to the anthemic title track, released as a single with a Le Tigre remix, the band is unafraid to put it all out there and take their audience to new places. This is the sound of a band destroying and surpassing all expectations placed on them.

Vinyl LP pressing. Highly anticipated debut album from darkly sophisticated London duo, Swoone. This is an album, brimming with quality, depth and heartbreaking beauty. Siobhan Demare, who's sensual and exquisite vocals, have been in demand by the likes of guitar legend, Robin Guthrie and '90s chart toppers Mono, finally break free to create a breathtaking album of pure class. Here Siobhan is more in control, more expressive and in the finest song writing form of her career. Fans of her sultry delivery will also be mesmerized by her stunning melodies and poignant lyrics. Her beautiful voice conveys such intimacy it vividly populates a gorgeously rich and cinematic aural landscape. The music is deeply emotional and genuinely felt, not because composer Gary Bruce knows how to write and play this kind of music, indeed, the opposite is true, he has no musical training or knowledge. His keyboard has the notes written on them pencil and he slowly develops guitar chords from scratch! Instead of using musical theory Gary painstakingly creates a musical landscape navigated by feelings alone. It is this probing of the heart that produces music that is refreshingly genuine and instantly arresting.
