About this product
Heavy Creatures started making music together in the fall of 2004 in DUMBO, Brooklyn in a 140 year old monolithic warehouse basement. The place is haunted with ancient sailors, withered pines and sparkling red rubies. With the cohesion of all of these elements, a wonderful incantation of rock, traditional work song, sea shanty choruses and psychedelia has been born. Their debut recording Loaded Sky, hits you immediately with the pummeling instrumental opener 'Black Roller' and goes straight into 'Mid Night Mares' which showcases the duo vocal intensity of Sarah and Kelley. Loaded Sky takes the listener through an up and down psychedelic landscape that ranges from loud to ethereal and back again. Each band member hails from a musical background. Kelley Vaughn (guitar-vocals) is from a family of southern gospel piano players and this is her first musical project. Sarah Blust ( keyboard-vocals -percussion) (also ex-Marmalade, Succubus) has been in many musical projects since her days at Oberlin in the early 90s. She is also currently in the political marching band The Rude Mechanical Orchestra and plays drums with the band Flaming Fire. Patrick Kauffman (Drums) is also an accomplished musician who, during the beginning of Heavy Creatures, simultaneously completed his first stellar solo full length 'On The Mysterious Other'.

Listening to Peaer is like watching someone solve a complicated math equation with grace. Each moment is executed with precision, care and foresight for how it will serve a later part of the arrangement. Every note - and the space between - is integral to the composition. Comprised of two studio engineers and a guitar teacher, Peaer's music is naturally methodical, but not at all rigid or convoluted. In fact, the Brooklyn trio's new album, A Healthy Earth, is profoundly introspective, genuine and colorful a sensational balance between meticulous sonic construction and self-analytical lyrics that open up into thought-provoking social commentary.1. The result? An undeniably formidable , Wild Echoes is a potent combination of diverse beats, with lyrics that address loss, love, trauma, relationships, and pure joy. A true soundtrack for life.InchIt is the collective ambition of The Black Creatures that listeners will deeply absorb 'Wretched (It Goes)' not just for it's indelible late 80s/early 90s groove theory, but the message of questioning the Prison Industrial Complex propelling the beat as well.Inch - American Songwriter

The new single from Canadian indie rockers Born Ruffians, from their upcoming album Uncle, Duke & The Chief. Out February 16, 2018 on Yep Roc Records. Produced by Richard Swift (Foxygen, The Shins), Uncle, Duke & The Chief is a record less concerned with what sounds hip than what feels good. In the Ruffians' case that meant shedding some of their more arty influences (the Pixies, Talking Heads) and reconnecting with the sounds they first heard on their parents' turntables as kids Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, and pre-psychedelic Beatles. InchIt's about going back to the deepest, most satisfying itch to scratch, Inch says lead singer Luke Lalonde. And in doing so, the album takes you back to a time when the Ruffians sounded less like a band and more like a gang, raising a wild ruckus and speaking in telepathic tongues.Forget MeMiss YouSide TrackedFade To BlackLove Too SoonSpread So ThinTrickyRing That BellWorking Together
