Mississippi native Albert Luandrew, better known as blues pianist and vocalist Sunnyland Slim, first came into prominence in Chicago in the late 1940's fronting a band that included Muddy Waters on guitar. Early in 1954 he cut these four classic tracks for Al Benson's Parrot tag subsidiary Blue Lake, which are among the best rare blues tracks of a career which spanned almost five decades. The musicians supporting Slim's piano and vocals on these sessions are thought to be Snooky Pryor on harmonica; Floyd Jones and Eddie Taylor on guitars for InchGoin' Back to MemphisInch and InchDevil Is a Busy ManInch. Same lineup minus Pryor is featured on InchBassologyInch and InchShake It BabyInch with the addition of Big Crawford on bass and an unknown harp player. Classic sides, newly remastered.
