Helms Alee - Stillicide - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

This is the first from Cherry st. On Perris Records. They signed to BMG's JRS tag and released InchSqueeze It DryInch with most of the same songs.

Helms Alee's fifth album Noctiluca continues their tradition of blending girthy sludge riffs, deceptively clever compositions, rich instrumentation, and transcendental melodies into a potent standalone sound. Starting with album opener InchInterachnid,Inch the band displays their multifaceted approach with eight-armed drum patterns underpinning thunderous walls of fuzz distortion provided by bassist Dana James and guitarist Ben Verellen, with the latter's barrel-chested roar serving as a counterpoint to the siren song vocals provided by Mathenson-Margullis and James.

The second offering by The Revues continues to explore the intersections between Tejano music, Latin Soul, and funk. This updated take on Rene y Rene's coveted version of InchMi Corazón Esta LlorandoInch is tough but with a touch of sweetness.
