Hiatus Kaiyote - Mood Valiant - VINYL LP

Extraordinary soprano Jessye Norman is the star at the heart of this live performance from the London Philharmonic Orchestra archives, recorded in 1986 under the baton of Principal Conductor Klaus Tennstedt. Norman brings her warmth to this tender and personal collection of songs by Richard Strauss, while the blistering final scene from Salome shows her at her most powerful and dazzling. Strauss's suite, comprised of incidental music written for Molière's Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, brings to life the world of the foolish Monsieur Jourdain, and his desperate attempts to join the aristocracy.

Recording as Lontalius, New Zealander Eddie Johnston released his debut album I'll Forget 17 on Brooklyn-based indie Partisan Records in March 2016. He moved to LA to work on his second album 'All I Have' with Grammy award winning producer Om'Mas Keith (Frank Ocean, John Legend, Jay-Z) and Jim Fairchild (Modest Mouse and Grandaddy).InchWe started in an Om'Mas Keith world but I realized I love live bands and that I didn't want to make a completely electronic R&B album,Inch Johnston says of his decisive moment in Los Angeles. InchI wanted drums and energy.Inch Having spent a week in the studio with Keith, a rarity for an artist whose bedroom recordings took him from his family home to international success, Johnston then began working with Jim Fairchild, a member of legendary bands Grandaddy and Modest Mouse. InchI'd tell him I'd want things to sound like U2 but not like U2 and he'd understand,Inch he says of his like-minded relationship with Fairchild. Surrender EP has over 500k streams since 26th April. Debut single from new upcoming album Make My Dreams Come True, over 100k streams on Spotify in week 1.

Black Vinyl with lyric sheet. Sparks, brothers Ron and Russell Mael, are back with their 28th album 'MAD!', their first with Transgressive Records. Most acts, by their seventh decade in the biz, would have slowed to a crawl, creakily playing their past hits on the heritage circuit and releasing nothing more than the occasional Greatest Hits collection. This is not the case for Sparks, who have triumphantly returned yet again, proving their resilience and relevance in a modern world with a fresh record and summer world tour to accompany it.
