About this product
Arriving hot on the heels of acclaimed 2022 EP, Credit Note, Absolute Reality tackles different themes of social commentary, with fiery lyrics and hard picked guitars, holding both honest confessions and tall tales, lived stories and movie-like landscapes. Showcasing the noise and texture that Holiday Ghosts love from the New York punk scene and New Wave era, single InchVultureInch cemented their flourishing status within the alt-rock scene. Between their last album, North Street Air, to the present day of Absolute Reality, the Holiday Ghosts's have rocked iconic stages throughout the UK and Europe, with notable accomplished slots at the likes of Latitude Festival and Left Of The Dial, as well as support tours alongside acts including Black Lips, Bodega and The Bug Club. In addition, they've attracted widespread praise across the press landscape (The Guardian, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, KEXP, DIY, So Young, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash, Gigwise), and clocked in live sessions/interviews aplenty of BBC 6 Music with key tastemakers Steve Lamacq and Mark Riley.

Punk Slime Recordings are proud to present Holiday Ghosts and their self-titled debut album, which is due for on September 22 on vinyl and digitally. Holiday Ghosts is based in Falmouth on the south coast of England and originally started out as the solo project of Sam Stacpoole of The Black Tambourines, with the rest of the line-up evolving since 2012. Holiday Ghosts is now a full collaboration between Sam and girlfriend Katja Rackin, also featuring various members of The Red Cords, The Golden Dregs, and William Weak, playing a stripped back and primitive style of rock 'n' roll, with influences from acts such as Modern Lovers, The Clean, Violent Femmes, and The Velvet Underground. The debut LP Holiday Ghosts showcases a mix of tracks written by Sam Stacpoole, Katja Racking, and Charlie Murphy (also of The Red Cords, Freak Genes, Murph & The Gazorpos). It was recorded over two years at Troubador Studio in Falmouth on eight-track quarter-inch tape and also features Ben Woods on bass. The album steps away from today's heavy, fuzzed out guitar riffs and drones, and instead shows a leaner, snappier, and more playful sound.
The second full length from UK's Holiday Ghosts and their first as a full band offering a cleaner and more focused set of songs while breaking new ground and experimenting with influences from country, blues, spaghetti western soundtracks and more. Praised by the likes of Guardian, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan & KEXP.A part of the PNKSLM Recordings 10 year anniversary repress series featuring some of the long sold out key releases in the catalogue on new variants.
