Vinyl LP pressing. Holly's third full-length album PROTO isn't about A.I., but much of it was created in collaboration with her own A.I.'baby', Spawn. For the record, she assembled a contemporary ensemble of vocalists, developers and an inhuman intelligence housed in a DIY souped-up gaming PC to create a record that encompasses live vocal processing and timeless folk singing, and places an emphasis on alien song craft and new forms of communion. PROTO makes reference to what Holly refers to as the protocol era, where rapidly surfacing ideological battles over the future of A.I protocols, centralised and decentralised internet protocols, and personal and political protocols compel us to ask ourselves who are we, what are we, what do we stand for, and what are we heading towards? Vinyl LP pressing. 2018 , the first album in five years from the Canadian jazz singer. Produced by Grammy Award winning producer Russ Titelman (Eric Clapton, Randy Newman, Ricki Lee Jones), and arranged by pianist extraordinaire Larry Goldings, Holly, was mostly recorded at Sear Sound Studio in New York City alongside an exemplary cast of both New York and Toronto based musicians. The recording comes complete with classics including InchThey Can't Take That Away From MeInch, InchEverybody Loves SomebodyInch and InchTeach Me TonightInch which showcase Holly's dynamic artistry while bringing currency to these timeless tracks. On creating the album, Holly recounts, InchWhen I made this record I didn't know what to expect. All I knew was that I was excited; excited to work with producer Russ Titelman, excited to work at Sear Sound Studio in New York, a wonderful studio I had recorded songs from my InchTemptationInch recording in and excited to record with a whole new band that Russ Titelman had assembled.Inch
