Good medium size cooler but terrible warranty dept

We liked this Honeywell evaporative cooler. It is a convenient size, not too bulkly or heavy and easy to roll about. The air flow can be felt up to ten feet or so and it holds enough water for about half-day. The controls and displays are simple and easy. Unfortunately after about four months use the water stopped circulating to the element rendering it just fan. Honeywell warranty response was the most evasive and un-helpful I've ever dealt with and I eventually gave up. Although they did respond, they insisted on perfect photos of the unit tags in addition to the receipt, model/serial numbers and detailed description. The reflective backing of the ID tags makes photos difficult and they would not accept the best I could obtain from many attempts. I will never buy a Honeywell product again. After four months of use it goes in the trash.

It’s an over glorified fan. Will not drop the degrees in a room at all. The fan doesn’t blow much so you need natural air. Just get an industrial sized fan for the same price it’s about the same.

It is not an a/c. First understand that. It needs a window slightly open for draft and will cool the air in the room with water you put into the water tank. It’s a super glorified fan but it works very well in small rooms. My bedroom is not air conditioned but this thing makes my room feel comfortable. Only issue is the water needs filled up almost daily and it takes a decent amount of water.

Reasonably priced. Very useful for rooms that cannot fit a window a/c unit. Tried in cool weather and it was easy to use..quiet..just sounded like a fan. Anxious to try in very hot weather.

Low watts means solar powered is easy peasy

We purchased 2 of these to give our poor single ac unit a little help. Because living in the heat dome of 2021- even the pacific north west had dry air and high temps. At 108 degrees our poor dining room 8000 BTU AC struggled to get this one living area down to 98. With the swamp cooler addition we added another chunk of coolness....10 more degrees! Yes! Hugely more bearable. Which is why we bought a second one for bedroom- which has no AC at all. Easy to use. Comes fully assembled. You unbox and add 2 plus gal water. Water lasts a full day. I recommend misting the pad to speed up operations by about 30 minutes. After 4 months you replace the pad. No refrigerant, no condensor, nothing complicated to break. Draws less than 60 watts so in the rolling Avista power outages- our simple 75 watt solar panel, 12 volt marine agm battery and inverter means we had still cooling going on!

NOT meant as an AC

I LOVE this thing!! If you wanted this as a cheap alternative to an AC, rethink your strategy. It is NOT meant to cool down a whole room, just to cool you off directly in front of it. I unfortunately cannot get an AC for my apartment, but the cooling breeze this provides feels nice, so it works great for me! When filled to the max line, can last about 24 hours straight. (so maybe ideally 3 days at 8 hours) My room gets dry a lot and it works great as a humidifier, too.

These units make use of water evaporation for cooling , instead of compressors . So these cannot be expected to cool like AC's. The wind coming out of evaporative air coolers will feel more like a gentle cool breeze.

I thought it would be a kind of replacement to my AC, but make sure to read everything first, its not meant to cool a whole room, its just some personal AC unit, so be cautious, but it does work well for pointing it at myself

I like this fan i mainly use it in my garage and it gets the job done and the few times i haved used it in my bedroom it work great the water tank could be a little bigger but overall not that bad
