The Hoover Steam Vac is just what I wanted and need. It did a very good job on my loft carpeting and the stairs. You have to switch to the stairs attachment, but it was simple to attach and easy to use and the stairs look as good as the loft. It doesn’t clean as good as a professional cleaner, but I am very pleased with the results. It’s been almost 3 weeks since I cleaned the carpets and they are still looking freshly cleaned. I am also pleased that the carpets dried very quickly, especially since I have two long-haired cats. It does a super job picking up cat hair. It doesn’t take long to assemble and it isn’t too heavy, which is really important for me as I am fairly petite. Although it isn’t recommended for tile floors, I tried it on mine. Unfortunately, the tile didn’t look any better. In summary, given it’s reasonable cost, I think it’s an excellent value.

I have this because my little pup thinks the downstairs carpet is also a bathroom. Had spots everywhere. Eventually broke her of that habit and now the carpet looks like it never happened. Used it every weekend for about 6 weeks now. Easy to use (no handle for carrying up and down stairs though which is the only negative). And considering the price to rent one this works great for smaller areas. I would get a larger tank if you have a large area or have to use it multiple times. Using it once in a while (even for larger areas) would be ok.

I bought this specifically to clean my living room carpet. This is the second Hover Steam Cleaner I have owned. And just like the first one I expect to get years of use. And after first use of this new one, I’m not disappointed. I purchased this house over two years ago. The first use of steam cleaner and the carpet looks like the day the realtor showed the house.
