Hot Luch - Seconds - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Following the sudden implosion of San Francisco's heaviest (and quite possibly hairiest) rock band Parchman Farm, singer Eric Shea built the heavy Punk 'n' Roll quartet Hot Lunch. With vintage tube amps the size of refrigerators and a behemoth drum kit, the group entered California's Louder Studios with producer Tim Green (Christian Mistress, Earthless) to record their debut album. The resulting, self-titled Hot Lunch is a 10 song romp overflowing with heavy, hard-driving guitars, born-to-be-a-breakbeat grooves, throbbing, melodious bass lines and the bad ass vocals of Shea (the dude can really fucking sing!). This is scuzzed-up, red hot Garage Rock 'n' Roll that pushes Hot Lunch to the forefront of the awesome West Coast scene of bands currently redefining skate-rock.

Widely known today as the progenitor of the Miami Bass movement, Amos Larkins II is one of the only producers from that golden age that has never slowed down, continually producing music that is a cut above the competition since he first walked into a studio decades ago. Because he has such a strong foundation in the principles of music, having studied with the likes of legendary bassist Jaco Pastorius, jazz pianist Chick Corea, and has participated in workshops with Stanley Clarke, George Duke, Billy Cobham, Jean-Luc Ponty, Al Di Meola and countless others - there is no genre that he hasn't mastered - be it hip-hop, house music, synth pop, electro, bass, funk, whatever - Amos has done it all and still manages to stay ahead of the curve. On his new album of all original tunes, Larkins enlists the talents of three talented up and coming female vocalists to set the atmosphere. Kenyan vocalist Shahina Nefia is featured on the lead track InchAfrica Never StopsInch which sets the chill vibe and prepares the listener for what's next. With thoughtful, exotic melodies, soulful beats - this music is as organic as electro can get - the chillest of the chill. The journey begins
