Launder clothes efficiently with this GE Hotpoint washer. Its deep rinse setting thoroughly cleans clothes by eliminating soap residue and leftover fabric softener. The heavy-duty agitator rotates laundry throughout the wash basket, for the fresh and clean results you want. The bleach and softener dispensers on this GE Hotpoint washer automatically release product during wash cycles so you don't have to worry about pouring them in at the right moment.
Q: Will this washer accommodate a King size comforter?
A: no way...I washed a twin and I put it thru 2 wash cycles to throughly clean it, but I had to adjust to deep rinse mode for fabric softener to get it to clean. the tub only fills up halfway. this is not a non he machine as they have it advertised. this is very much a he machine with no way of adding any additional water for larger loads.
Q: Hi, does this machine offer a feature to soak clothes overnight?
A: This washer was advertised as a non he washer. It is not...it has a automatic soak during the wash cycle. I would not recommend this washer . There is no way to add more water to the wash cycle and the tub only fills a third of the way up so you have to do small loads. It had a hard time washing a twin comforter. I have had it now a month and truly regret buying it. It is loud enough to be heard from the basement to the second floor. It does spin really well, but that's about it.
Q: Does this washer have an express wash? It takes a long time for a load of wash .
A: This washer does not have an express wash. While it will wash at a normal pace, the final spin cycle is fairly long, lasting nearly ten minutes. This long final spin cycle will get clothes really dry, reducing dryer time for clothes that are dryer safe. For anyone needing to wash clothes quickly, one would likely have to look at a GE model with express cycle in order to get clothes washed in under 25-30 minutes. Most of my loads take between 33-39 minutes to complete using this particular Hotpoint washer.
Q: Is there a place to empty any hair or lint that is caught during the wash cycle
A: Hello Dennis - Thank you for your question; we are glad to assist! The Fine Mesh Filters were removed from under the agitator of our new washers when it was found that a better pump and larger holes in the hub under the agitator did a better job of removing lint and preventing clogs in the drain system. The drain system allows water to flow through the basket and out the bottom of the tub pulling lint, hair, and small particles with the water. There is no maintenance required on this system, so there is not a way to access the pump for cleaning or maintenance. We hope this information is helpful. Thanks for checking. Olga
Q: Will the water fill all the way to the top? Can I wash a king size blanket in it?
A: If you select the bulky items and super load, it will wash king size bedding. I’ve washed my down company store king down comforter- got it thoroughly clean. I’ve washed quilts etc. no problem. Always stays balanced.
Q: Can you wash a queen size quilt in this washer
A: Hi - Thanks for viewing Hotpoint Model HTW240ASKWS! Yes, the washer can accommodate a queen size quilt. Keep in touch at hotpoint.com. Enjoy! Sue
Q: Where is this washer built?
A: My owners manual and Hotpoint washer say it is made in the USA. It is made in Louisville, Kentucky at the GE appliance factory. Hotpoint is actually a GE product, and is made at the same plant as some of the GE washers.
Q: I have a couple of questions. How can I presoak my clothes? Which is the fastest cycle?
A: Hey there, Thanks for your question. This washer doesn't have a soak setting where you can set how long your clothes soak. The best way to achieve this is once the washer fills, then pause the washer. Please note that the washer will drain after 15 minutes with the lid open or 24 hours with the lid closed. The fastest cycle on this washer is the delicates cycle. Let us know if you have any other questions. Stay well. Mike@GEA
