As he begins to ask more questions-and the horrifying truth of their circumstances becomes apparent-mother and son face a harrowing bid for escape and an even more challenging acclimation to the world. Lenny Abrahamson’s remarkable drama also stars Joan Allen, William H. Macy, Sean Bridgers; Emma Donoghue adapted her novel for the screen. 118 min.
