A: This is a two pack of the normal capacity (Not XL) regular black cartridge, NOT the photo cart. This cart has the pentagon symbol on it, the photo cart has the bow tie and it also says photo on it.
A: The XL just means there's more ink so you don't have to replace the cartridge as often. I have used both the 564 and 564 XL no problems. This allows me to get the best deal at the time I need ink.
