This printer cartridge was delivered promptly to my door (2-day delivery). Opened the packaging, removed the protective strip and started the alignment with the printer software. These XL cartridges last longer but cost more so I left the old color cartridge in the printer and set it to print with Black Ink Only and Grayscale in the Preferences with a Max DPI for nice crispy prints that won't break the bank. I would give it 5 stars except I'm hoping the missing star will prompt HP to bring down the pricing and make them more attractive to loyal customers. Other than that it's just Happy Printing!

Great quality. Only complaint I have with this is I seem to have to buy so many. I don’t feel like I am printing that much but I am constantly having to replace the ink??? I don’t know if it’s the printer or the ink causing this. The ink is really expensive to have to buy all the time. The photo at the bottom shows it has great print quality.

The brand new HP printer I purchased along with this ink cartridge does not recognize this ink cartridge when I install into the printer. I’ts now too late to return, so I’m out the cost of this ink cartridge. Very frustrated. YES, this is the correct cartridge for the printer. The message on the printer says to remove and reinstall the cartridge. I have done this more times that I can count. Without this cartridge the printer is not usable.

I am very sorry that your black cartridge did not work. I can understand if you are irritated by that, but I might be able to help.
That error message can mean that the contacts are dirty, which could be something as simple as a fingerprint or there might be some damage to the contacts.
Carefully polish the copper contacts on the cartridge (and the matching ones inside the printer) with some kind of lint-free material to see if that helps the connection and lets the printer recognize the cartridge.

I buy the XL cartridges which are supposed to last longer. I only buy black and don't print in color. I can't even print 200 pages with one $50 cartridge. This printer is the worst I've ever used. Way too expensive. The salesperson sold me a dud.

I would like to apologize for the results. I understand why you think these cartridges are expensive. Individual salespersons can't predict if a cartridge is going to work. Still, that information doesn't make your situation any less frustrating. Try gently shaking the cartridge over a towel. There might be some ink left in there.

I was unhappy to find you are having this problem. I understand if you are upset by this.
It must be defective. You can return it or exchange it either to the store or by mail.
According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289)."
