After using an HP 12C financial calculator for over 30 yrs, I bought an HP 10 to save money (half the price of the 12C). Cumbersome to use, I returned it the next day and purchased another 12C. It doesn't get easier to use than the 12C as long is you can get comfortable with the RPC (Reverse Polish Calc) keystroke sequence --> 12x2=24 --> is 12 ENTER, 2 x. The new 12C is a 1000x faster than the 25 yr old 12C I had. Try amortizing 10 yrs into a 25 yr mortgage to calculate interest paid, principle paid, and remaining balance and the answer takes less than a second. On my old 12C it would take 30 seconds! Gotta love the new chips!

Have been using for years. Last Long and very easy to use once you get comfortable with it.

I have used this since I can remember from college. This is the only calculator I know how to use and it is one of the best financial calculators!

As a poor college student, I was just going to use a TI-83 calculator. However, using it took way too much time so I decided to buy this instead. It saves me a lot of time when doing finance homework. The only downside to this is that sometimes the buttons get stuck.

I had a HP-12C from the 1980s. I could enter numbers without looking at the display because it was easy and dependable to work. The buttons are harder to work on the brand new version and sometimes do not register. Now I have to glance at the display and this slows me down considerably! The calculator still calculates beautifully and is much faster with some functions than was my original HP-12C. That's just the state of the art: in 1980 HP made their products in the USA. Today: better components made somewhere else.

This is the 2nd HP calculator I buy. BestBuy was quick in delivering. The calculator works fine, I'd give this 4.5 stars because the orange ink on the f button and labels looks a little dull, not as warm as seen in photos. But whatever, I didn't buy a fashion piece, it's a calculator and it works fine. I'm rating "ease of use" 4/5 just because it takes some time getting used to RPN and the many functions on this thing

I purchased my first HP 12C 30 years ago and became addicted to RPN calculators. Over the years I slowly moved to software based calculators. The other day the most recent SW calculator was not working, and I went to Best Buy to get a calculator. I honestly didn't know they still sold these, but it has been perfect.

Nice springy keys that register perfectly , RPN, the ability to save keystrokes, financial functions at the tip of your fingers in no time. Just perfect.

I don't recollect when I bought my first HP12C; (the one I am reviewing is a replacement for one that I lost), but it must be about 25 years ago because I was using it in a job in the finance business. Frankly, it can do more types of calculations than most professionals in finance will ever need--discounted cash flows, lease vs buy, mortgage amortizatoins with and without balloon payments and on and on, all at a very reasonable price, about the size of a deck of cards and possessing a responsive keypad, great battery life, etc. etc. in addition to being fully programmable for those who wish to design their own computer-in-a-pocket; a great tool

Old design cannot easily read the numbers! Old design cannot easily read the numbers! Old design cannot easily read the numbers! Old design cannot easily read the numbers! Old design cannot easily read the numbers!

Finally had to by a new HP12c after 37 years of almost 37 years of daily use in my real estate business This one runs so much faster than the other one. Best calculator ever!

excellent calculator very hard to find. had been searching for a while

This is a calculator I've used for over 30 yrs. My first bought in 1975. It died only recently. I love it. Does everything I need for financial planning, mortgages, loans. Great feel. Never dies.

I've owned 12C's since they debuted, and am now on my third one. They are compact, hardened workhorses with everything a finance professional needs in a calculator, short of a spreadsheet.

This works great. I like this calculator. It has many benefits for financial calculations

I have had a 12C since 1988. It was my favorite calculator and went through a lot of punishment. I lost it recently and had to purchase a new one. The keys double strike or don't strike at all when pressed. I hoped it would settle down after a while, but I am likely going to return this. I know HP licenses this and no longer manufactures, so I'm not surprised. I will try a replacement, but this may simply the end of an era for me.

Does the job !! Needed it for a appraiser exam and it helped me with a lot of the questions!

Great product and very easy to use once you get used to it and learn the keys!

HP12C is the go-to financial calculator for a reason. This was cheaper at Best Buy than at an office supply store in the immediate area.

This calculator makes it easy to colculate mpv. It is small and lightweight, but still built well. However there is a small learning curve to use basic functions.
