In that way, it's kind of like the gas tank in a car-it's permanently in there and you just refill it as needed. With other laser printers, the toner cartridge itself can be removed and replaced when it's empty.
A: Yes but good luck on finding a device driver that supports it. There was hundreds of HP device drivers but none supported the faxing and scanning. Plus for the high dollar price the printer is built about as cheap as you could make it. I was totally let down with HP's quality and approach of selling garbage at a over inflated price since they used to have a name in the printer industry..
