First time buying a gaming PC and for the monitor, I went with (HP OMEN, 34" VA Curved WQHD 180Hz AMD FreeSync Premium Gaming Monitor with Adjustable Height (DisplayPort, HDMI), Black) as it was recommended to me by one of the employees. I’ve only had this Omen gaming monitor for about a week, but so far so good. Carefully unboxed and set up was easy, with simple instructions on how to install the stand and power and display port chords. The graphics for gaming is pretty excellent.

I am very happy with this monitor. First of all it is a simple monitor and that is all I wanted. No smart features that get in the way of using it. I connect it to my M4 MacBook Pro and it works very well. I edit video and photos and the color is very good compared to my MacBook. In my configuration I use raise it up and it sits comfortably just above the top of my MacBook for easy viewing.

The HP Omen 34c G2 is an iterative upgrade from the G1 with the main difference being a bump in refresh rate from 165Hz to 180Hz. The 34" panel size, 3440x1440p resolution and 180Hz refresh is an excellent blend of specs that hit a sweet spot in terms of performance requirements and visuals. Pixels and graphical elements look sharp and crisp without looking overly large and pixelated, but the resolution and refresh rate are not so high that you can't obtain them without spending top dollars ($1k+) on a bleeding edge graphics card. Instead, you can easily pair this Omen monitor with a card in the 3080/4070Super/5070 range for Nvidia and a 6800XT/7800XT/9070 range for AMD to run at native resolution and still achieve 100+FPS. With upscaling, you can even get some flexibility with lower end cards, especially if you leverage DLSS4/FSR4 and Frame Generation. We're using this monitor for my daughter's first real gaming and personal PC and she absolutely loves it. She plays Monster Hunter on it with some friends with a RTX 5070 in her PC and its a perfect match for this resolution and refresh rate. The panel tech is VA, which doesn't have as good contrast or dark blacks as OLED, but I also don't have to worry about her leaving it on and having to deal with burn-in. Response rates also aren't as good as OLED but she won't know the difference and the pixels are still responsive enough that they don't have much blur or image retention. Still, VA panels have come a long way and the HDR and brightness are both excellent. Build quality is good, I like the flat base and the overall low profile. The curve is very subtle and really good on ultra widescreen 21:9 panels as they help wrap back to the viewer. It feels very similar to some of the AW panels I've used in the past with the subtle curve. Only complaint is that the bottom bezel is a lot thicker and overall the bezels are kind of thick but my daughter only uses 1 panel, if I had flanking panels the thickness might bother me more. When she's not taking out monsters in Monster Hunter, she's watching her videos on Youtube or watching KPop Demon Hunters on Netflix. She also likes to work on art and drawings with her sketch art pads so the extra desktop resolution and ultra widescreen are great for her to work on multiple projects at once. Overall great panel for the price, my daughter absolutely loves it!!!

If you've never used a curved monitor before, it can create an incredibly immersive experience when gaming. This new model from HP did just that for me. Pros: - The 34" LCD display is just plain gorgeous. The high resolution, paired with a terrific refresh and response rate allowed me to play my favorite games smoothly and with amazing clarity. (The refresh rate is 180Hz, while the response rate is 1 millisecond) - It is designed to work with the VESA mount standard, but I used the included base. It was easy to assemble and it provides an excellent and easy way to raise/lower the monitor and tilt it to your preferred angle. The monitor was packaged very intelligently to protect the screen and allow for easy assembly of the mounting base. - I like the placement and functionality of the control buttons on the back of the monitor. It's easy to reach around and feel for the button you are looking for and you know immediately when you've found the button you wanted by feel alone, based on their unique texture. This allows for a sleek looking bezel without buttons on the front. - The onboard speakers are pretty good. Not all monitors have onboard speakers so I like having that as an option for when I don't feel like putting my headset on. Cons: - I'm not a fan of the location of the power and display ports as they leave the cords out in front and easy to see. I prefer a cleaner look with cords being able to be easily hidden behind the base mount. You can bend the cords back to mostly conceal them, but I don't like putting that kind of pressure on the connectors/cords. In my opinion, curved monitors like this are ideal for gaming but not too useful for any other reason. So if you are a gamer and love an immersive experience with beautiful visuals, you will love this HP model.

I've been trying out the HP Omen 34" for a couple weeks now and man this thing is a beauty. I was a little nervous about setting up a monitor this big, but it was actually a breeze. The stand just clicked right into place, no tools or fuss, and I love that I can easily raise or lower it. The first time I turned it on, I just kinda stared at it for a minute. That curve really pulls you in and makes everything feel so immersive. I've been replaying some of my favorite racing games, and it's like a whole new experience. The motion is unbelievably smooth, no blur or tearing even when I'm flying around corners. And it's not just for games. I work from home a couple days a week, and having all that real estate is a game-changer. I can have my email, a spreadsheet, and a browser window open all at once without feeling like I'm squinting at tabs. The picture is just gorgeous. The colors are rich and pop without me having to mess with any fancy settings. I watched a nature documentary on it the other night, and the details in the dark scenes were incredible. Honestly, for the price, I don't think you can beat it. It does everything I wanted it to do and more. If you're on the fence about getting an ultrawide, I'd say go for this one. Zero regrets here

The 34" HP Omen is an all around great UW display for gaming or content consumption. Even it being a VA panel, I found it to be just fine even after years of using OLEDs or IPS screens. I encountered little to no ghosting or I just can't tell anymore so that's a great thing and also no noticeable haloing when a bright object is against a black background. In the box is the easy (tool-less) to assemble base and arm, rear cover, power cord, DP cable, monitor itself and not only the quick start guide but also a calibration report to see how it performed off the assembly line before going to your build. The rear of the monitor to the right (if you're looking at it from the front) is the power button and a separate cardinal direction buttons with a center as well. No nipple stick like on most other displays. I/O is rather simple. You get 2 HDMI 2.0 ports, 1 DP 1.4 and a 3.5mm audio out jack. For my build, I use the DP. If using a mount, the OMEN is VESA 100x100 compatible. Other notes if using the included stand instead. You have no rotation at all, but -5 to +20 degrees of TILT and 100mm of Height adjustments only. Screen resolution is 3440 x 1440p since it is an ultrawide. Make sure when you are using this OMEN for the 1st time, you go into your display settings and confirm you are on 180hz. Windows defaulted it for me to 60. Performance is again excellent for me while gaming. 180hz /w a 1ms response time made everything look buttery smooth. This is obviously vary depending on what hardware you are using. My favorite and preferred resolution is 1440P while gaming and the OMEN checks all my boxes. Being a VA panel, there is excellent viewing angles (because this is a curved screen) and while they are usually prone to having ghosting issues, I barely if that encountered it at all. Games I have been playing so far have included, WoW, Starcraft II, Oblivion Remastered, DOOM, Silksong, CoD, BF and plenty of others. As of today writing this review, I am excited for tomorrow as I am a huge Borderlands fan and am excited to play BL4. There are built in speakers if you are in a bind, but don't expect them to be anything other than passable. Imagine playing music or something, then walking away 20ft and shutting the door. That's what they basically sound like.

What makes this particular monitor stand out from the other less expensive 34-inch curved monitors is its brightness. This monitor is rated at 400 nits and will get brighter than the less expensive options out there. The brightness will help if the monitor is in a well lite room. In addition, colors and shadows are more prominent while gaming. There are other aspects of this monitor that I really like, but I’ll focus on screen quality first. In terms of black light bleed, my monitor showed very little signs of white light bleeding from the edges. In fact, it was almost non-existent. In addition, even though this monitor does not have local dimming, there was very little haloing happening when bright objects were present against a black background. And in terms of ghosting, I didn’t notice it. Or at least, I didn’t notice any extreme examples of it. However, my eyes may not be as sensitive to it as others. However, the latest VA (vertical alignment) panels have improved their response rate considerably over the last few years, thus reducing the likeliness of extreme ghosting. And finally, in terms of contrast, the differences in dark to light areas were solid. Meaning, blacks were dark and whites were vibrant. For a VA panel, it did a good job representing these differences. While it won’t get you the inky blacks OLED panels are capable of, I was impressed when gaming in dark areas and in shadows. It is important to note that every monitor that comes off the factory floor will be different. I was happy to see my specific monitor perform well in the areas described above. So, if you do end up getting a monitor that shows a lot of signs of light bleed or other issues, it may be worth exchanging it for another one. Another feature that is supported on this monitor is HDR. With only a 400 nit brightness, colors are not as vibrant when comparing then to HDR found on TV’s (with brightness in the 1,500 range on up), but I found turning on this feature in Windows improved the monitors overall color accuracy (see image). And as a side note, don’t forget to change the monitors refresh rate to 180Hz in either Windows or in your graphics card software. Since I have a Nvidia graphics card, I adjusted that setting in Nvidia Control Panel (see image). The curvature on this monitor is perfect for immersing the user while gaming. I really enjoy the extra screen space while playing Fortnite. Games like Fortnite have screen resolution options that take advantage of the extra wide screen. Essentially, you can see a wider area around you while playing. I am truly impressed with the immersive environment it creates. And considering that the curve is a 1500R size, you’re able to benefit from the curve, yet are still able to view the monitor from a little further away. In comparison, a 1000R curve size means that the ideal distance is 1 meter away (about 3 feet), while a 1500R curve gives you more leeway at 1.5 meters. Anything beyond that and objects will begin to appear distorted at the corners. There are a couple things I wish were different. It would have been nice if there were two display port connections. The monitor only comes with 1 in addition to two HDMI 2.0 connections. Also, the warranty is the standard 1 year warranty. Anything higher would have been nice. Otherwise, I am very happy with this monitor’s quality and features. For a casual gamer, this monitor serves my needs. It’s also very useful while doing work. The 1440 resolution and wide screen is perfect for many of my office tasks.

The HP OMEN has been an awesome gaming and performance machine. Right away, it feels powerful — games load quickly, frame rates stay solid, and even demanding titles run smoothly with settings cranked. The design strikes a nice balance between aggressive gaming style and everyday usability. Performance isn’t just for games — video editing, streaming, and multitasking feel fast and reliable. The keyboard is responsive and comfortable for long sessions, and the display is sharp with great colors and refresh rates that make action feel smooth. Cooling does a solid job under load, and overall the system stays stable even during extended use. If you want a machine that can handle modern games, creative work, and everyday tasks without compromise, the HP OMEN is a great choice.

My wife was using her laptop and a second monitor. She wanted a bigger monitor, but a 27 or 32 16x9 monitor was too tall. So, we purchased this HP Omen 34" as it is extra wide and not as tall. It works great for having 2 apps open covering half screen each.

Absolutely love this Monitor. The monitor is huge. Love the ultra wide screen and depth of color. It’s only standard definition but does support HDR. The stand is easy to assemble and is adjustable up and down with a nice forward and back tilt adjustment. The included display port cable is a must to take full advantage of the ultra wide screen. The controls are easy to use with nice onscreen menus. Definitely recommend and planning to purchase a second one for that ultra wide semi circle display setup.
