I wanted a smaller monitor for a budget gaming PC, mainly focused on playing games like Fortnite and Minecraft in creative modes. I wanted the monitor to be around 22-25in with a resolution of 1080p and an IPS panel to help with color accuacy. I saw that OMEN had a 23.8in IPS monitor which looked like a perfect fit, so I decided to get one. Pros: - 1080p Resolution at 180Hz - 2xHDMI 2.0 Ports. - Factory Color Calibration. Cons: - Doesn’t include DisplayPort cable, only HDMI cable. Setup: OMEN makes the initial setup easy by designing the packaging to be easily opened and lift out of the box. If you’re going to use the provided stand, instead of a monitor arm connection, then connect the back cover before attaching the stand and base plate. The stand just snaps onto the monitor, no extra screws to attach. To remove the monitor panel from the stand, just lay it flat on a table with the screen side down and press the button on the underside of the stand attached to the back of the monitor. The monitor will pop right off. The only concern I had while setting up the OMEN 23.8in was the lack of an included DisplayPort cable, only an HDMI 2.0 cable is included. Specifications: The OMEN 23.8in has a 23.8in IPS Full HD (1080p) display with a maximum refresh rate of 180Hz. The monitor takes advantage of FreeSync technology, which is an adaptive sync technology that allows the monitor to adjust the frame rate based on how many actual frames the computer can generate. This works with both AMD and Nvidia GPUs, for Nvidia GPU’s just make sure to enable G-Sync Compatible Mode in the Nvidia Control Panel. Maximum Brightness is 300 nits which is fairly standard for IPS panels. The color gamut is 99% of sRGB, but the biggest benefit is a factory color calibration that ensures what you see is the color that was expected. The monitor also features a Response Time of 1ms, which can be enabled in the monitor settings. Connectivity: The OMEN 23.8in comes with 2x HDMI 2.0 and 1x DisplayPort 1.4, plus a headphone jack for plugging in a headset directly into the monitor. Having 2 HDMI ports is very convenient, as I might plug a gaming system in alongside the PC in the future. Stand: The included stand allows for a height adjustment between 3.5in to 5.5in with the ability to tilt and rotate the monitor. This allows you to adjust the monitor to an ideal position for better ergonomics and reduce fatigue while using. Use: I found using the OMEN 23.8in to be exactly what I wanted for a basic gaming setup, good full HD performance without any trade-offs. The color accuracy and pre-calibration made setting up games as simple as launching the game and adjusting the basic settings in game. I didn’t have to adjust the monitor settings at all, which was a great relief. I found playing FPS games like Fortnite played amazingly, depending on the system but if you can maintain a steady 160+ Frame Rate at 1080p, this OMEN monitor is a perfect pick! I didn’t have any issues like ghosting or screen tearing, everything was smooth and sharp. I was very impressed with the colors, as my other main monitors are OLED displays which tend to have much more vivid colors, which can make IPS panels look washed out when side by side. The OMEN display does look less vivid, but the colors are still very accurate and not washed out. Conclusion: If you’re looking for a 1080p gaming monitor that doesn’t cut any corners, the OMEN 23.8 would be my top recommendation. There’s just nothing not to like about this monitor. The 180Hz paired with the 1080p IPS panel is perfect for any competitive or casual game, while the color calibration ensures what you see on the screen is color accurate without any fussing with settings. I know this will go over well and look forward to playing some Fortnite and Minecraft soon!

HyperX - OMEN 23.8" IPS Full HD 180Hz FreeSync Gaming Monitor with Adjustable Height (DisplayPort, HDMI) - Black This 23.8” (1920 x 1080) HD monitor is a good entry level gaming monitor. It has a clear, crisp picture, 180 Hz refresh rate needed to enjoy most PC games, and base features for a good experience. The base is solid, connects extremely easy, and with monitor attached is roughly 15-20lbs. In other words, it’s not going anywhere if the desk/surface gets a little shaky, or you bump the monitor when attached. There are 2 HDMI inputs, 1 DP input, and an audio jack input. Very standard for a gaming monitor. You can turn the monitor very easily with minimal effort, 90 degrees, to orientate vertically. This monitor is eyesafe certified 2.0, with an RPF of 35. No clue what those were was so I googled it and saved you time. From Google: eyesafe certified 2.0 is a rigorous, health-based standard for display screens that signifies reduced high-energy blue light (415–455 nm) while maintaining color accuracy. It ensures screens meet strict, expert-backed requirements for managing blue light toxicity, balancing eye comfort with visual performance. RPF = Radiation Protection Factor : Measures the amount of blue light being emitted by the monitor. Higher RPF number indicates less blue light being emitted. This monitor has 8 color presets to choose from, or you can customize your own preferences. I was more than happy with the Native selection. Changing most individual game settings, had little to no effect with the display quality of this monitor. No lagging, ghosting, or any latency problems. Nice bright clear display. I think this is a wonderful choice for anyone with a student in school, who likes to enjoy PC games. With the blue light protection , it can help to combat the potential long-term, cumulative damage to eye health from prolonged screen use. Regarding schoolwork, it can help with a student’s ability to get a good night’s sleep, and to help with. Anything that helps their brain relax and wind down for the night is a good thing, with significant benefits to their sleep pattern! Highly recommend!

I recently got my hands on the HyperX OMEN 24 G2 monitor - it's been a game-changer for my setup. As a guy who enjoys winding down with a few rounds of my favorite games after the kids are asleep, having a reliable and smooth display is pretty important. I'm not some pro gamer or anything, but I definitely appreciate a good picture, and this monitor delivers. My old monitor was doing okay, but it was getting a bit long in the tooth, especially when it came to those faster-paced titles. I did a fair bit of research, like any responsible family man trying to get the most bang for his buck, and the specs on this one really caught my eye. The first thing that genuinely blew me away was the refresh rate. This HyperX OMEN boasts a 180Hz refresh rate, and you can absolutely feel the difference. Everything just glides on the screen, whether I'm navigating menus, watching a quick YouTube video, or, most importantly, diving into a competitive match. Games like Valorant or Apex Legends feel incredibly smooth, and I can actually keep up with the action a lot better now. It’s a noticeable step up from the 60Hz or even 120Hz monitors I’ve used in the past. There’s none of that choppiness or blurring when things get hectic, which means I’m not missing crucial details during intense firefights. It really makes the whole gaming experience so much more immersive and, frankly, a lot more fun. My old eyes can actually track things properly without feeling strained. Beyond the speed, the colors on this IPS panel are genuinely fantastic. I've had some monitors in the past that just looked a bit washed out, but this HyperX OMEN 24 G2 is different. The colors are vibrant and accurate right out of the box, which is something I really appreciate. It’s got that 99% sRGB coverage, which might sound like jargon, but it basically means everything looks rich and true to life. Games look gorgeous, from the detailed environments to the character models, and even just browsing photos of the family looks great. It’s a pleasure to look at, and it doesn't feel like I'm compromising on visual quality just to get that high refresh rate. It makes everything pop in a way that truly enhances the overall experience. You can tell they put some effort into calibrating this thing properly, which saves me a lot of fiddling around with settings. My kids even commented on how good the cartoons look on it when they watch their shows. The 1ms response time also works in tandem with the high refresh rate to eliminate ghosting. I honestly can’t detect any blurring, even with super-fast movements. And for someone like me who sometimes gets screen tearing, the AMD FreeSync Premium (which works fine with my Nvidia card, by the way) is a lifesaver. No more annoying lines disrupting the picture, making for a much more polished and enjoyable session. Another thing that really stands out is the stand. This monitor comes with a fully adjustable stand, and it's rock solid. I can adjust the height, tilt, pivot, and even swivel it around. This is a big deal, especially when you're trying to get that perfect ergonomic setup. A lot of monitors in this price range skimp on the stand, so having all these options is a real bonus. It’s heavy and stable, so there’s no wobble. Sure, it's a 1080p monitor, and some folks might want 1440p, but for a 23.8-inch screen, 1080p looks perfectly sharp and lets my graphics card push those high frame rates without breaking a sweat. It might not have built-in speakers or a USB hub, which isn't a huge deal for me since I use headphones and have plenty of ports on my PC. All in all, for competitive gaming and just general everyday use, the HyperX OMEN 24 G2 is a fantastic piece of kit. It brings excellent speed and beautiful colors to the table without breaking the bank. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to upgrade their gaming setup without going overboard.

This is my second Omen 24 inch monitor and this equals or surpasses the prior performance. The other monitor was about four years old and is now being retired to being a second monitor to a laptop while this is attached to my Omen Desktop gaming computer. Results are impressive. The old one was 165 hz while this one is 180 hz. Better response. It also seems brighter than I remember theh old monitor while it was new. Power button relocated to back lower right. Not as easy to feel and locate as the older model but once you use it a couple of times you know where to find it. 2 hdmi and one display port connection. No longer is a power brick needed as this comes with a three prong plug to the back (female) and the standard power outlet three prong (input male). 1080p with tilt and limited up and down (height) adjustment on the base post. Priced at under $200 at the time of writing, this is a great value to add to content creation as a second monitor or like my application of using with a desktop for light gaming and content creation. IPS screen that will help with color adjustments in the future.

My daughter is a casual gamer but more importantly she is a college student that is majoring in arts program. She is doing a lot of work with graphic design and the computer is, in my opinion, the perfect compliment to her needs. The 24" size is perfect because her room and desk is small so something compact is a necessity. We weren't sure about the display clarity because it is only 1080p but since the monitor is only 24" and she is pretty close to the monitor, it comes off as very crisp and clear. As for the gaming experience, it is very smooth. No noticeable blurring or hiccups. All her design works looks great and she loves how responsive the monitor is. There is an adequate amount of inputs with basically all that you really need. Only thing I can complain about is that this is the 1st monitor I've used with a joypad in the back of the display, which took some getting use to. Also, be aware that it also doesn't have an internal speakers but totally understandable at this price point. And at this price, I couldn't be happier.

Gaming Monitors are an important factor in not only true game play but also how it game looks and feels as you play it and if you have a subpar monitor it can make all the difference. HP OMEN consistently has been delivering high quality gaming monitors for a few years now and each release is better and better. The HyperX line even at a smaller 23.8 inches packs a punch of high quality graphic interfaces and an easy to use plug and play out of the box monitor you can start using immediately with your gaming set up. What I like about this monitor, you can adjust it, swivel it on its base to turn it vertically which works well with my set up since I want one monitor one way and the other in a verticle fashion. Also, this monitor delivers an HD 180Hz with FreeSync which allows even the most demanding graphics game like Call of Duty to be clear and almost in your face real which HP really knows gaming. Pair this with an HP gaming set up and you have a beautiful gaming system ready to take on any types of games! Highly recommended!
