I saw that best buy had the chiller in stock and was origonally thrilled to be able to get it quickly vs the 4 month lead time on the website. Unfortunately things went down hill after it arrived. I immediately got a “water pump error” message, and after days of troule shooting sith ice barrel, i got it to work briefly. Then, it stopped working again and customer support from ice barrel has been MIA. Love the idea but the chiller is not ready for prime time. Would not reccomend.

I preordered the Ice Barrel Chiller through Ice Barrel last year June. It took a long time to get this and we were getting very angry. However, the design and product has fixed all of our frustrations. This Chiller is spectacular. It's very very quiet. Cools extremely fast compared to the competitors. I'm very happy with the purchase and we haven't had any of the issues that are being reported. I came over to the Best Buy site to leave a review because this product is exactly what I was hoping it would be. The setup can be tough, recommend using some type of vice grips with the bulkheads.

First, BestBuy sent me a used unit, which was exchanged for a new one. For over a month, I’ve been dealing with error messages about Critical Water Flow restriction, and the system just goes into protection mode and stops working. Despite weeks of promises from Ice Barrel customer support for a "remote fix," the issue persists with zero customer support calls to me or technician visits. Both BestBuy and Ice Barrel refuse to take responsibility after charging ~$6k for the chiller and tub. Ice Barrel feels like a nascent company unable to stand behind a poorly designed product. Extremely disappointing customer service. Think twice about buying from them.

Avoid the purchase, after getting this set up the unit leaked internally and had nothing to do with setting it up. Contacted customer service and they asked me to send a video. Video was sent and has been two weeks with no response. I returned it to Best Buy before the return window closed and Best Buy made it easy. The manufacturer customer service is non existent.

This is the worst purchase I have ever made in my life. Chiller #1 came in and I was excited to set up with my Ice Barrel, but immediately upon turning on it was spewing water from the side of the unit and giving low water flow errors. Support agreed that this unit was defective and sent me Chiller #2 after a warranty claim. Chiller #2 came in and didn't work either, it would cycle room temperature water rather than chill it. After waiting about 2 months I finally got an answer from support and they agreed it was defective and sent me Chiller #3. This one worked great! For about 3 months until it stopped chilling water, it would only cycle room temperature water. Support advised the data suggested an internal component was broken by a power surge and set up delivery for Chiller #4. Chiller #4 has now been set up and as soon as the water cycling starts the machine makes an obnoxiously loud grinding sound, think a baseball card in bicycle spokes x1000. You couldn't pay me to take Chiller #5, and I've already been told that I can't get a refund since I bought it from Best Buy. I lit $3200 on fire the day I clicked the order button

Since Best Buy doesn’t allow editing a review I’m posting another one following my original review based on receiving a replacement unit since the original one was damaged in transit. Nick at Ice Barrel reached out correct the issue we were having and sent us a replacement unit. We received the replacement unit yesterday and used it for the first time this morning and works great and the ice barrel app makes it easy to schedule sessions remotely so it’s ready when you get home. We have our chiller hooked up to the 500 barrel and took about 6 hours to get from 67 degrees to 45. We love our unit, thanks ice barrel!

Zero stars. After researching, chosing, and finally purchasing a ice barrel and chiller, I plugged the chiller in and the screen was blank. It has never worked, and I have received only 1 email in all of my reaching out to find out what I could do. Ice Barrel support is completely vacant, no help, and I should have gone elsewhere for this product. ZERO stars. I only wished I had purchased Best Buy’s Total plan so I could have received 60 days of return eligibility so I wouldnt have had to deal with Ice Barrel at all. Look elsewhere.

I returned this thing to best buy today. It only worked for a week and then kept getting a water flow restriction message and the unit would go into protect mode and make it unusable. Ice Barrel customer service was awful. The were going to send a box to return the unit and now have just gone completely dark and never sent the box.

Outside of customer service- All we have had is issues with the chiller. It has never once fully cooled to the scheduled temperature. It shuts itself completely off randomly and won’t turn back on unless you completely unplug it. Even that doesn’t work every time. Doing this DAILY for a several thousand dollar product combined with atrocious customer service and a crap return policy? Absolutely do not buy and stay away from this product.

I bought mine directly from Ice Barrel. Waited forever to receive and similar to other msgs getting non stop alerts of low water pressure. I automatically shuts down the system and I can’t use. Now I’m trying to engage support from Ice Barrel and have received zero response. I’m getting concerned the company is shutting down or something.

I’m truly impressed by the design of this system. It’s drawing less than 6 amps with a 1/2 HP motor, yet its performance matches or even surpasses that of a 1 HP chiller. Without a doubt, it’s the best chiller on the market.
