For your dense data storage needs, it holds an unprecedented 8x 2.5" SAS / SATA hot-swappable drives with 5mm-7mm height, all in a single 5.25" bay. The two Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8643) connectors at the rear of the unit makes it easy to connect to a modern RAID card and reduce cable clutter, while offering additional bandwidth and reliability over SATA connections. The dual 40mm user-controllable cooling fans and ventilated metal case keep your drives running longer, even under the toughest of loads. The fan has three modes the user can set; high, low, and off. The ToughArmor MB998IP-B features a rugged heavy duty full-metal enclosure designed to handle I/O intensive applications such as data mining, information retrieval, video processing, HPC, VDI, cloud service, database, and server.
