After years apart, BASEMENT have relinked for a new album that is bursting with renewed purpose. WIRED is the UK-based band's fifth full-length album and first on Run For Cover Records in ten years. But it's more than that - it's the feeling of electricity that surges through these twelve songs like a current, and a statement on how interconnected these five individuals were while creating their most complete album to date. Since joining together with the modest goal playing shows around their hometown of Ipswich, Basement's consistent core - vocalist Andrew Fisher, bass player Duncan Stewart, drummer James Fisher, and guitarists Alex Henery and Ronan Crix - have had an enduring connection that's grown over nearly twenty years. WIRED signals a return to what drove the band in those earliest days creative freedom & connection. Songs like title track InchWired,Inch opener InchTime WasterInch and the fiery InchPick Up the PiecesInch are as intense as they are intimate, pushing against the boundaries of anything the band's done before. There are softer moments, too - the infectious melodies ofInchBroken By DesignInch and InchHead AlightInch feel as emotionally resonant as any song the band's ever done. Together, these twelve songs radiate like the iridescent cat captured on the album's cover - flashes of pure energy, captured in the perfect moment to light up fiercely against the night. Navigated by producer John Congleton (Shame, Mannequin Pussy), WIRED channels the all of the catharsis of previous Basement records with a renewed focus on distortion, imperfection, and strangeness. There is clear inspiration from alt-rock pioneers like Radiohead and Sonic Youth across these songs, but what pulses through every moment of WIRED is a dedication to experimentation - a risky gambit on the creative force of these five individuals that rewards on every listen. For Basement, WIR

Deified during his lifetime by the press, which for four decades has capitulated to his obviousness, adored by a public that now only turns out in droves to see him, once again, roam and thrill stages that didn't ask for so much, godfather, almost in spite of himself, of alternative currents that he himself has decapitated, with a swipe of his teeth, with each rebirth, Iggy Pop is better than an artist in the breach. He is the breach.Since InchPréliminairesInch, we've known that Iggy can express himself in ways other than roaring on guitars raining splinters, other than howling gunpowder. All he needs is the urge. Driven solely by his artistic aspirations, and driven by a vital need to get to the heart of the matter, his course of action has led him to record, under French influence, artistically and from the heart, the dozen or so songs of this InchAprèsInch, which rhymes with his present. With his covers of InchLa vie en roseInch, InchEverybody's TalkingInch, InchSyracuseInch, InchMichelleInch and InchEt si tu n'existais pasInch, Iggy isn't trying to prove anything. He's simply pointing the other side of his personality towards the light, and leaving it to others to guess which is the darker side. A far cry from the wild, emotional rhythms he has chosen to express in another way. InchAprèsInch deserves to resonate, loud and clear, and in a different way. With a voice as beautiful as it is deep, and one that stirs the guts, Iggy Pop appropriates these classics, tailoring them to his own dimensions and guaranteeing the thrill.

Limited 120 gram vinyl LP pressing. Lust for Life is the second studio album by Iggy Pop, his second solo and his second collaboration with David Bowie, following The Idiot earlier in the year. As well as achieving critical success, it was Pop's most commercially popular album to date, and remains his only Gold-certified in the UK. The Lust for Life sessions took place soon after the completion of a concert tour in support of the The Idiot album, the tour ending on 16 April 1977. Pop has stated, InchDavid and I had determined that we would record that album very quickly, which we wrote, recorded, and mixed in eight days, and because we had done it so quickly, we had a lot of money left over from the advance, which we split.Inch Bowie, Pop and engineer Colin Thurston produced Lust for Life under the pseudonym InchBewlay Bros.Inch The recording was made at Hansa Studio by the Wall in Berlin and featured Ricky Gardiner and Carlos Alomar on guitars with Hunt and Tony Sales on drums and bass, respectively. With Bowie on keyboards and backing vocals, the team included three-quarters of the future Tin Machine line-up.
