Q: Do I need Battery for irig 2 -Im using attached to my iPhone for podcast
A: The iRig 2 gets all of the power it needs from the headphone jack, and does not need batteries. If you intend to use the iRig 2 with iPhone 7 or newer, you will need a Lightning to 3.5mm headset adapter. Though third-party Lightning to 3.5mm adapters are available for less money, the only adapter I could get the iRig 2 to work with, is the one that's sold by Apple themselves. Hope this helps.
Q: What other plugs or cords are needed with this.
A: Just a pair of headphones or external speaker (Like a guitar amp or AUX input on a normal speaker), and a cable to your guitar.

A: While not it's intended design, you can use the iRig 2 to record the output of your Roland E-Drum kit on iOS or Android. Just make sure to use an app which allows headset audio input, like iRig Recorder 3. If your device has an RCA output, check out the iRig Stream.https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigstream/
