About this product

In advance of their forthcoming debut album via Prophecy Productions, newly formed black metal trio Vuur & Zijde (Inchfire and silkInch) - featuring members of Laster, Nusquama and Terzij de Horde - will introduce themselves on a split- alongside the similarly enigmatic Impavida. While recording in a remote yurt on the Frisian shoreside, the band opted for a nostalgic production reminiscent of genre-defining demos from the early 90s to fit their own style. Equally grim and epic, Vuur & Zijde's three songs, which will remain exclusive to this , also highlight ethereal female vocals and layers of sounds, lending them a weightless, otherworldly character. The anonymous minds behind Impavida come from Germany and the US, offering two unsettling, discordant dirges to underscore existential questions that are spit out hysterically. With two full-lengths on Ván Records since 2008, the duo remains without face and history, a nihilistic void set to music. Meant not for the faint-hearted but all those who seek transcendental aural darkness, the groups' self-titled joint effort stimulates imagination and - ultimately - leads to remarkable revelations. InchVuur & Zijde / ImpavidaInch is available as Digipak CD and on vinyl (black, ltd. Transparent green).

So Soon - Whether You Like It Or Not - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Songs with captivating depth, impressive vocals in floating harmony, coming of age in reverb. So Soon, formed by multi-instrumentalists, songwriters and producers David Stöbener and Marco Braun, create music that develops tremendous size and strength despite an impressionistic approach to sound design and storytelling. Indie pop and folk merge with electronica and post-rock to create a moving entity - both on the recordings and in electrifying concerts with the full band. In addition to their own headline shows. So Soon's debut album will be released in 2024, accompanied by an extensive tour. So Soon have not only been friends since their youth, they have also been making music together for years and have invested in their art. You can hear that in their compositions and production multi-layered songwriting, precise vocals, impressive sound and tremendous playing quality combine to create a magical whole. The people involved in the production also play their part and make Whether You Like It Or Not a pleasure to listen to. The album was mixed by Barny Barnicott, one of the UK's leading mixers and producers, who has worked with artists from Kasabian to Sam Fender. In Barny's diverse catalog, the Arctic Monkeys' debut album and InchConfessionsInch by The Temper Trap are just selected highlights. The mastering was done by Matt Colton, who has already refined releases by Muse, James Blake, Thom Yorke, Aphex Twin and Depeche Mode. The focus track InchCan Nobody FeelInch describes a feeling that we all know well The feeling of not doing enough. Fast life, rising complexity, the challenges you have to face, the unknown future in a world out of order. The feeling of not being enough is a constant companion.

Tchornobog - Split - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Any track opening with a multi-layered recording of a number of vomiting sessions is bound to continue on the darker side of the musical spectrum. The epic song 'The Vomiting Choir' delivers 24 08 minutes that form a descending spiral into a bottomless pit filled with a mostly dissonant sonic miasma of pure negativity and surprising complexity. TCHORNOBOG continue down different paths that lead from their assumed position on the crossroads of death, doom, and black metal. Friends of DEATHSPELL OMEGA, THE RUINS OF BEVERAST, and ULCERATE will quite likely recognise the general direction, but the American outfit from Portland, Oregon is charting a course of their very own through these extremely dark musical waters. Those who sail in his wake, might also encounter the ghost of early MOTÖRPSYCHO among many other wondrous encounters. TCHORNOBOG were called into existence by Ukrainian-born multi-instrumentalist Markov Soroka in 2014, who is also known for other projects such as AUREOLE, DROWN, and KRUKH. The Ukrainian name TCHORNOBOG is based on a reconstructed Slavonic deity of whom there is little evidence beyond a note in the InchChronica SlavorumInch, which was penned by the German chronicler Helmold von Bosau in the 12th century and later copied and embellished. Also spelled, among many other versions, Czarnobóg or Czorneboh with the meaning InchBlack GodInch, this supposed bringer of misfortune and ill-luck even made it as Czernobog into Neil Gaimans novel InchAmerican GodsInch and it's subsequent TV adaptation. The self-titled debut full-length InchTchornobogInch was finally released to critical acclaim in 2017 and later reissued worldwide by Lupus Lounge. Currently, Markov Soroka is working on a sophomore TCHORNOBOG album. As a first taste of the sonic darkness ahead, we may all chime in with 'The Vomiting Choir' on the split with ABYSSAL.
