About this product

Everything has to be said. This is the conviction guiding Indigo de Souza's sophomore album, Any Shape You Take. This dynamic record successfully creates a container for the full spectrum-pushing through and against every emotion InchI wanted this album to give a feeling of shifting with and embracing change. These songs came from a turbulent time when I was coming to self-love through many existential crises and shifts in perspective.Inch Faithful to it's name, Any Shape You Take changes form to match the tenor of each story it tells. InchThe album title is a nod to the many shapes I take musically. I don't feel that I fully embody any particular genre-all of the music just comes from the universe that is my ever-shifting brain/heart/world,Inch says Indigo. This sonic range is unified by Indigo's strikingly confessional and effortless approach to songwriting, a signature first introduced in her debut, self-released LP, I Love My Mom. Written in quick succession, Indigo sees these two records as companion pieces, both distinct but in communion with each other InchMany of the songs on these two records came from the same season in my life and a certain version of myself which I feel much further from now.InchI feel very much like a shape-shifter with my music, I'm always trying to embody a balance between the existential weight and the overflowing sense of love I feel in the world.Inch It is exactly this balance that Indigo strikes in her Saddle Creek debut, Any Shape You Take. A listening experience that gives back, as you shed and shape-shift along with her.TRACK LISTING01. 17 3 0602. Darker Than Death 3 1303. Die/Cry 2 2604. Pretty Pictures 2 5805. Real Pain 4 5006. Denver, Colorado-based saxophonist Fred Hess composed all the tunes on this CD, and the styles span the spectrum from blues to free jazz, with references to John Coltrane and Ornette Coleman. Fred's technical facility allows him to deliver a rapid flow of ideas with a soft and smooth tone that recalls Joe Lovano. The quartet features Paul Smoker on trumpet, Ken Filiano on bass and Damon Short on drums. This album is full of stylistic variety and quirkiness.

Indigo de Souza - InchPrecipiceInch. There are moments standing on a high ledge where wild space beckons. In that moment, instinct stirs InchWhat if I just jumped?Inch It's been described as Inchthe call of the void,Inch an experience somehow more primal than even feeling or urge. On new album Precipice (Loma Vista Recordings), Indigo de Souza looks over the creative and spiritual cliff and leaps, taking control of difficult memories and charged emotions via pop bombast and diaristic clarity, and finding a stronger self through the journey.

Alan Vega - Alan Vega (Deluxe Remastered Edition) - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Alan Vega's self-titled debut solo album, originally released in 1980, marked a bold new chapter for one of New York's most influential and uncompromising voices. On his solo debut, Vega dove headfirst into the roots of his personal sound, fueled by blues, rockabilly, and his enduring love for Elvis Presley. Stripped of Suicide's confrontational electronics but retaining Vega's outsider energy and voice, the album translates early rock 'n roll through an art-punk filter and stands as a cult masterpiece in it's own right. Minimalist, haunting, and deeply personal, it carved out a unique place in the underground canon. Now available as a limited deluxe double LP edition, this definitive reissue pairs the newly remastered original album with a second disc of previously unheard early demos, offering a rare glimpse into the raw creative process behind this cult classic, and alternate artwork exclusive to this pressing. Alan Vega (Deluxe Remastered Edition) is a companion piece that sheds new light on Vega's process and vision during this pivotal era, making it a must-have for collectors and longtime fans.
