About this product

Indigo Sparke's majestic second full-length album Hysteria is a sweeping work, one that possesses a rare, reflective power. On it, she examines love, loss, her history, and the emotional upheaval surrounding those sensations her words tell the stories, and the sounds act them out. It's a diary built for big stages. Hysteria arrives just a year after her striking, minimalist debut, Echo. Here, though, Sparke offers an expansive body of work-it's a complex collection that expands her sound and outlook. Work on Hysteria began at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, while Sparke was stranded in quarantine in her native Australia. After moving back to New York in the spring of 2021, Sparke finished writing the album's 14 songs and decamped upstate with producer Aaron Dessner (The National, Taylor Swift). InchOriginally we were going to co-write, but after he heard my demos he said, 'There's so much in here already,'Inch Sparke recalls on how Dessner, who also contributes instrumentation along with guitarist Shahzad Izmaily and drummer Matt Barrick (The Walkmen, Muzz), got involved in bringing Hysteria to life. Centering Sparke's powerful vocals throughout, Hysteria is packed with big guitars and layered instrumentation that practically acts as the album's lungs, giving every note breath. From the pulsing immediacy of InchInfinite HoneyInch to the soaring InchGod Is a Woman's NameInch and InchHold OnInch's towering chorus, this is music that sounds huge even as it zooms in on the trials and turmoils of one's inner life. You can hear Sparke reflecting on reconciliation, grief, hope, and the passage of time on the perpetually building InchPressure in My ChestInch and the airy, Joni Mitchell-esque title track, which finds her embracing a gorgeous upper register over gently strummed guitar. InchSet Your Fire on MeInch builds and bursts not unlike Angel Olsen's own raw folk-rock

Colin Linden - Blow - VINYL LP

Vinyl LP pressing. Blow is Colin Linden's fourteenth solo album, following the first, Colin Linden Live, by forty years. It is his first electric blues record. Blow will bring you to the dance floor, or up your highway speed by ten or fifteen mph, but it's also worth listening to in a more contemplative way. Most classic blues songs were written by more than one person over more than a few decades, and that's what gives them their gravity. Colin has steeped himself in this tradition, on advice he got, at age eleven, from Howling Wolf Inchif you want to play this music, listen to the people I listened to.Inch On 78 records, you might think, but a lot of those old bluesmen were still around in the 1970s, so Colin got to know and learn from Sonny Terry, Brownie McGhee, Muddy Waters, Johnny Shines, Blind John Davis, Son House, and Robert, and Sam Chatmon, who invited him to Mississippi andgot him started on his first journey through the South.

Indigo Sparke - Echo - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

How do you reconcile loving someone when everything is relentlessly changing, dying, and decaying? It is devastating to love and be loved, because the perfect is both impermanent and eternal. For eons and mere moments, we exist with lovers like we exist in deserts, where the landscape stretches on and on. You can't possibly hold it all. These are the questions that permeate the rooms, corridors and wider landscapes of Indigo Sparke's debut record, E?cho.? Sifting through deep and intimate relationships, her work is a constellation of desire, dreams, memories and melancholia. Infused with heartbreak and hope, her songs are sombre, yet reflective, positioning herself like a stone being tumbled in tides of time. Sparke established herself on the Australian music scene in 2016 releasing her self-produced EP N?ight Bloom.? In the years since, she has moved between New York, Minneapolis and LA, travelling through terrifyingly vast deserts and mountains, with seemingly endless highways and empty motel rooms. In 2018 her song, InchH?olographic HeartInch w?as performed in the Australian TV show, C?loudy River? (SBS). Later that year, she released her single, InchT?he Day I Drove the Car Around the Block,Inch? to critical acclaim. She was invited to play at SXSW in Texas in early 2019, where NPR's Bob Boilen was first taken by Indigo. He later wrote, InchHer song, '?The Day I Drove the Car Around the Block'? has a mundane title that made me smile, but lyrics that both cut hard and comfort.Inch After seeing one of her performances Boilen invited her to do a Tiny Desk concert in Washington D.C. and included her song in All Songs Considered 2019 SXSW Wrap-up Our Favourite Discoveries and Memorable Moments, claiming he Inchloved the way Indigo Sparke balanced heavy, reverb-drenched verses with moments of airy and acoustic whispers.Inch Listening to E?cho,? it is clear Indigo has s
