Everything in the box had damage except the lid -- and the truth is, I didn't even look at the lid -- I am sure I would have found it was scratched up too... Plastic part of burner on front right side came out already scratched/marred up and looks like the color/plastic has started chipping off showing white spots that do not rub off. Both the pot and pan were very cheap and both were scratched up in various places. The burner can be purchased separate for $80, so I would expect a $25 Pot and $25 Pan at suggested retail not to have any imperfections at all -- and -- be heavier than they are. The pots and pans really weren't packaged well at all. I have the 1300W induction model and this was to be an upgrade that should have been better. It had some damage too when I received it, but it did not cost nearly what this did and does work somewhat well, so I kept it. I can not do the same here as it was three times as much -- it will be returned. I did not test/play with this 1800W one as I am no longer in the happy customer mood. This is my last small appliance purchase here as I can never receive anything without damage from the store I pick my items up at -- too much wasted time an energy involved and the only one paying for my wasted gas is me.

I purchased one of these for my wife. She was so happy with this that she bought one for her mom. PROS; Easy to use. Very consistent heat. Safe, cool to the touch surface. We use this on our kitchen island, which allows us to have an additional cooking surface. When my wife is cooking on the stove top and using the oven, there is only room for 1 person. I am able to use this and now we have 2 people cooking. CONS: You must have induction capable cookware to use this. We purchased some new stainless steel cookware with a special induction plate inside of it. We can also use all of our cast iron cookware on it. If the one that we have breaks or gets damaged, I would definitely replace it.

This is the first induction cooktop we have ever used and we are very impressed. Works well with induction rated SS cookware and cast iron. Heats these items FAST! A heavy cast iron skillet goes from room temperature to too hot to touch in less than ten seconds. The cooking surface does, not the sides. You still need to give the sides time to transfer heat. We live at 5500 feet and level 2 is just right for a slow simmer in a 5.5 qt cast iron dutch oven. Level 4 (of 8) is a very hot saute. Temperature regulation seems good. I've never boiled over using this. The included pot and pan work well. They are not Al-Clad or Le Cruset quality but are a great compliment to the unit. If it holds up and keeps working for a couple of years, I would say it was well worth the price. So far I am quite happy.
