A: Had this freezer for about a month, and keep it in the basement. Noise level is quiet like a low hum when it comes on.
A: Why won't Best Buy simply post the directions for shutting off this completely unnecessary (and unprotected) wifi? I have called their customer support, and I have downloaded the app with no luck on either count. POST THE DIRECTIONS BEST BUY. Wifi on a freezer is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. "your privacy is important to us" says Best Buy, except when it comes to secure Wifi.
Q: Does this need to be connected to a water line for ice if I'm only using it as a secondary freezer?
A: Ours is just plugged into electric there are no hoses.
Q: What is the temp range of this model?
A: Per the manual, the default temperature for freezer mode is 0° F (-18° C) and swings +/- 10° F (+/- 6° C) and for refrigerator mode is 35° F to 46° F (2° C to 8° C). I've only had this for 2 weeks, but when I spot check the freezer it's between -7° F and 9° F. I guess the swing means it does not have to start and stop as often. For comparison it only runs about 25% of the time that my old unit ran, so I expect quite an energy savings (on top of the recent sale price, my utility Energy Star rebate, and selling my old unit to my utility). If you want to see the manual, go to www.insigniaproducts.com and search "NS-UZ14XWH7" under Support/Service.
Q: Does the lock button on the front of the screen mean lock the door or temperature?
A: It locks the temperature setting.
Q: Where can I buy an extra shelf for this unit?
A: Hi, I have NOT bought a shelf for this freezer, but our Grandkids broke a glass shelf in our Samsung refrigerator, and I searched all over. I found it at www.appliancepartspros.com They carry almost every part for appliances. The price was fair and we got the exact shelf that looked and fit like original equipment. The price wasn't dirt cheap but I paid a lot less than I thought I might have to pay for the perfect part and many times cheaper than having a repairman come out. They ship the part to you. If the part is in stock, you get it in days. The part I ordered was out of stock, but I still got it in a few weeks. All you need is the brand name and model number of your appliance. They have on-line part diagrams that you can use to find the part. You can check it out on line with no commitment. It is worth a try. I hope this helps. Frank
A: I just went to the basement and measured. With the tape measure on the floor to the top of the unit it measures 61" exactly.
