My laptop died, so I bought a new one and used this device to transfer my old data from my old hard drive to the new laptop. It was very easy to get working quickly. Plus, I have accidentally dropped it a few times, and it still works great. Thankfully. It even came with a tiny screwdriver to lock the hard drive into the enclosure. Super handy.

Initially purchased this item to transfer data from an old HDD to a newer SSD on a laptop. The HDD attached to a SATA connector on a small circuit board with a USB 3.0 Micro B cable connection (cable provided) on the other side. You can insert the drive into the bay of the enclosure but isn't absolutely necessary if your drive won't fit. Installation took no time. I left the drive in the enclosure as an expansion/backup for use around the house.

Great little enclosure that can provide you with great flexibility for additional storage housing either a HD or SSD for your laptop. I have several with SSDs and HDs, taking only those specific ones needed for business or on vacations. I place decals on the enclosure to identify the contents.

Very sleek case. Easy to assemble. I had a 1TB internal drive that fit perfectly.

Grabbed this for my son who does computer repair, states its a great tool to have on hand. Screws in photo are only hand tight for ease of access to the drive when needed or changing drives from job to job.

Good value; easy to use; good way to save data from old internal hard drives

This is a good enclosure. I connected my Samsung 850 EVO SSD to it to use as an external boot drive for Windows 2 Go and she works fine. However when I ran a CrystalDiskMark benchmark (3 passes) I find that it's slower than a similar external SSD connected via USB 3.0 So just keep in mind, this will not fully saturate your SSD speeds if you're buying this for an SSD, which I did. What I expected was full USB 3.0 speeds which I didn't get. But the product works, so I've awarded 3/5 stars.

It is not of a bad quality but costs too much for such a slow performance. It is twice as slow as other USB3 enclosures that are sold in other places for half of this price. Also it uses screws ... you can find enclosures with better locking options to let you easy swap drives inside. Do not buy unless you are in rush.

Works great. Doesn't take up too much space. The only thing I can say bad about it is that it makes it hard to easily switch drives. Screws and all instead of just a slide in like others.

I added this to my Xbox one for extra game space. Loading games off of this is so much quicker than standard HDD.

It's sturdy, my old laptop HD fits perfectly and I will purchase another case, in the near future.

My Mac Book Pro hard drive did not easily slide into the enclosure as described on the box and confirmed by the Best Buy employee. I was able to get it to work by using the connector onto the hard drive but it is not protected by the enclosure I purchased.

I've had this refrigerator for less than 30 days and have already had two issues with the ice dispenser. It freezes at the bottom and you're unable to get the ice container out. Ice apparently melts and then refreezes in the chute clogging it up. Two days later and I'm still waiting for the geek squad to come out and fix!! Terrible customer service. This shouldn't be happening with a brand new refrigerator. I would like a replacement.

I needed the hard drive enclosure to encase the extra laptop drive that I had replaced with an SSD. I use the extra drive as a portable drive now between my laptop and my desktop. I have had it for a couple of months now. Here are my list of pro's and con's. Pros: Stable, fast speed, reliable, sturdy, portable, easy to set up, performs as advertised, affordable Cons: None

After an incident with a kid and laptop, my laptop, screen, processor, etc. was destroyed. I had over 15 years of work, research, photos, etc on the computer and some on external drive. I was able to gut my laptop, remove 3T hard drive and purchase this device. Due to age, and size of my drive, I was skeptical of performance. To my surprise, not only did it work, access my data, but allowed me to now have a 3T external drive for my new Surface Pro. It was so simple, I was scared... Simply remove 2 screws with the provided screwdriver, snap in harddrive, and plug into USB, and bam... It also has a power indicator on front to let you know it's working or available. The unit itself, is small, rounded edges, and slick. Almost as if you had purchased an external drive for use. This was such a great purchase and performed so well, I bought 2 more for future use.

I took my 240GB SSD which was made to be installed internally in the computer, and I installed it into the USB 3.0 case so I could take it on the road with me. The interface is very fast, and it's incredibly easy to install. Anyone can do it. It's much cheaper than buying a regular USB SSD drive. You can't beat the price!
