I loved this portable air conditioner when I first got it, but after using it only six times it stop working. I tried my best to get it back running and thought I had did so, but as soon as the hot sun hit my windows the air conditioner turn itself off again and again. Unfortunately I will have to return it tomorrow and exchange it for a new one, because Insignia discontinued all of their portable air conditioners after I bought mine. Ugh

This air conditioner keeps my small apt cool. I was able to set up exhaust out sliding window by buying door insulation and having a stick cut for safety so window can't be opened. I do wish the low fan speed was slower and higher speeds can be a little noisy. Mine has a metal rattling sound when at higher speeds that's annoying. It is something inside where two pieces of metal are vibrating but I'm not going to try and take it apart to fix it. I think this is much easier to set up then a window unit. Overall happy with purchase.

We keep it at 75 and it cools the apartment down nicely. We've only used the low setting and we like that the fan swivels up and down. It was easy to set up and is about as loud as a fan on high setting. It didn't seem to affect our electric bill that much as well.

Central air is a bit of overkill in the Pacific Northwest, where we have only a few REALLY HOT days during the summer, although, with climate change, even our summers are getting hotter. This portable a.c. works really well to cool my large craft room, and it is lightweight enough that, if I decided to do so, I could roll it to another room as well. I bought a different brand a few years ago, but it was much more expensive and really heavy which limits my ability to move it. I really love the new one -- for its portability, ability to cool a much larger space, and price.

This AC is a good model/brand for a reasonable price. Very convenient and easy to setup (plug & play). The only issue I ran into is that the AC struggles a bit to get to the exact temp you set it up to be at. It also fills with water quickly (unless mine is defective). Unlike similar models/brands, this one does not go down to 60F. The dry feature fills up the water tank within a few hours (once again mine could possibly be defective) but it gives you the "max AC". The unfortunate operations of this product is the reason it got 4 stats not 5.

The reviews were mixed on the noise level. We took a chance. On the plus side, it seems to do a good job of keeping cool but it's just a bit noisy and it's right next to my daughter's bed (it has to be b/c of the position of the window). The price was right but I wish there was a way to quiet this thing down a bit more regularly -- over the course of the one mode it does sometimes get quieter but not freq. enough.

I just bought this air conditioner two days ago and it is one of the best portable air conditioners I've ever used. It isn't too loud like most others I've had and the price was a lot better on my wallet than most of this quality!

Cools great. Easy to install. A bit loud when running on high

We bought this for a 280sq ft upstairs room. It's 2 rooms but there is not door between so we had hoped it was enough. It wasn't because the air couldn't travel to the other side. We still use a small window unit on the opposite side room and there is no problem cooling. This works very quickly and has not seemed to up the electric bill as much as using 2 window units.

Really like this unit, works way better than an older model we have. Slim, easy to roll and store. It's loud but not annoyingly so. Overall pretty happy with it.

Nice and portable, has wheels. Puts out a lot of cold air. Not too noisy.

So I ended up taking back this portable air conditioner just because a window unit saved space however I do recommend this product it works very well

I shopped several stores before Best Buy. I wanted a larger unit(1400 but) but no one had one. So I settled for this unit. Instructions are bad ! Some attachment screws were missing but only 2 so no big deal. It works good , cools a 350 cubic foot upstairs room. NC is humid and the water storage tank filled in about a hour and a half. Had to go buy a hose hook up to the drain, buy a container lower then the drain. 8-10 hours about 2-3 gallons of water. Purchased extended warranty. The factory warranty requires you ship this heavy 75 pound unit to a repair facility at your cost. So far I like this unit, cools good. I would recommend this unit, just be aware of the water problem.

I had heard many things about portable air conditioners and was leary about getting one. i have a built-in air conditioner in my apt but it doesn't reach the bedroom so I decided to give this Insignia portable air a try. It is amazing - cools the whole bedroom in about 15 minutes and not at all noisy. Easy to install. So far, I am very please with this purchase.

Awesome unit. Just wish it wasn't so loud. It gets cold quick and works great though!

Does the job very well, the only thing it's a little louder that the other brand I have.

Being that it's a portable air conditioner, it works pretty hard. If you compared it to a window unit, it would be more like an 8,000 unit. It seems to cool my room that I use it for a 200sq, foot plus pretty good, thus far. It came through on the 93, high humid days.

Does a good job cooling our loft, apps 250 sq ft. It is a bit noisy.
