Keep your basement dry with this 50-pint Insignia dehumidifier. Its rear hose outlet provides a place to hook up a hose for continuous draining into a basin sink or floor drain, and the electronic control panel lets you precisely adjust moisture levels. This white Insignia dehumidifier has a power on/off timer to save energy.
A: The first person to answer the question.........didn't answer the question. I bought this unit and tested it and it does in fact shut the circulation fan off once the humidity % setpoint is reached. If the room humidity sensor reads humidity above the setpoint, the fan and compressor will turn on again and drop the humidity back down to the setpoint and then turn the compressor and circulation fan off (silent). This is how the unit should operate. Some manufacturers leave the circulation fan running 100% of the time and aside from the noise, this wastes energy. The manual and all online information makes no attempt to explain this mode of operation which I think most purchasers would want to know. If this unit ran the circulation fan 100% of the time, I would have returned it to Best Buy today. So far, it runs very well, puts out moderate noise (meaning you definitely know it's on) but it is not too loud to be irritating. Quieter than a window AC unit. Worth the $130 I paid on the Deal of the Day.
A: It turns back on resuming operations at the settings it was last programmed with.
A: My basement is 33x33 and it does my whole basement very well. But I do have a hose connected to my sump pump well to drain into so I don't have to empty the bucket. Before, I had a similar unit on a table next to my slop sink and it drained into that. No, it does not have to be hooked up to the drain hose, it has a bucket.
A: It does not. But it is wide enough on each side to easily reach in. The filter works so well, that bucket rarely needs cleaned.
A: I use this dehumidifier in a basement with no windows and the dehumidifier does a good job there, so it should be fine in a bathroom. It functions well and should be able to remove the excess moisture.
