The Insignia 6' DisplayPort Cable extends and mirrors the screen of your PC or laptop to a projector, monitor or other display. A 6 ft. cable transmits video and audio signals, helping you create a simple all-in-one setup. The 20-pin DisplayPort connection provides a 21.6 Gbps bandwidth for high refresh rates and smooth video. In addition, it supports resolutions of up to 4K, allowing you to watch movies, videos and more with a quality image.
A: Insignia's rep here is either ignorant or lying. This overpriced 20 buck cable is DisplayPort 1.2, ***not 1.4***. I've only realized this after buying it and exceeding the 15-day return policy. Yes, I'm salty. Note that the data transfer limit is consistent with 1.2, and the specification page carefully avoids noting the DisplayPort version at all. So too does the physical box the cable comes in. I should've been more careful, less trusting. For the record, what actually led me to realizing this cable is low-key 1.2 is that it's failing to achieve true 10-bit color depth on my monitor, though it's somehow fooling Windows and my GPU driver into falsely listing it as 10 bit. This is apparently some shady crap being pulled by Best Buy and/or their in-house brand Insignia. They appear to be deliberately posturing these 1.2 cables as 1.4 without explicitly saying so in the specs. Perhaps to clear old inventory? I don't know.
Q: Is there any assignment on Pin 20?
A: No, there isn't any assignment on Pin 20.
Q: Does this work with dual monitor?
A: Yes I don’t have both monitors using the same port to avoid evenly distributing image quality
Q: Will this cable work between a Dell XPS 8960 PC and a Samsung monitor?
A: Yes. As long as the ports are correct this will work just fine. Im going from a display port on a 6600xt to an ASUS monitor and it works.
Q: can you transfer files between 2 desktop computers?
A: No its display port it is not able to be used for file transfer only video
Q: Will this work with my Thinkpad?
A: Sorry I’m unsure
Q: Will this work with a LG monitor
A: Only if the monitor has the correct ports
