Been looking for a good charger where I can charge my laptop and tablet/phone at the same time. Finally found one that works. Amazing charger.

Summary: The insignia has become my go to charger for travel, but like all chargers, has some design trade-offs that people need to understand to judge if it is the right one for them. I usually give pros and cons, but it’s a good device so I am just going to list the design choices and explain why they work for me in the text. Insignia Design Choices: - Dual USB-C Ports. No USB-A ports. All most all my devices are USB-C so this works for me. - Compact almost Cube design versus more standard flat design. I find this easier to pack. - Fold in Plug. Eliminated a power cord for me, but means you are closer to outlets (Buy a longer USB-C cord?) - 65 total watts, two ports. Plenty of power to charge both my M2 Macbook Air and portable devices (iPhone and iPad). But low for a 16” Macbook Pro. I travel a lot and so always on the lookout for devices that save me weight, are easy to pack, and eliminate redundant devices. The insignia checked off a lot of boxes for me. It was only a bit bigger than Apple’s 30-watt charger, but gives me more watts, 65 in total. It gives me two ports so I can charge multiple devices at once. It eliminates a power cord, with the prongs folding into the device. And I liked the more cube shape versus the typical flat shape for packing. I know some people disagree on that, calling it ‘bulky.’ It’s the same total volume, but I find the cube easier to pack. Also, when it comes to charges what most people need to know is if you have multiple ports, like this one, and when it says 65 watts total, it means spread out over the ports. One plug in, you get all 65 watts, two plugs in, and one port gets 45, the other 20. And its port specific and usually marked which one gets more. Which is where I got excited by the picture of the insignia, it showed it used easy to see pictograms rather than small numbers that most other vendors use and that I can never read in dim light. Alas, insignia let me down here, in reality, and maybe it was this lot only, the paint job was really, really feint so even in good light I couldn’t read the markings easily. Bummer. Lose one point. So, like all compact chargers, it gets warm when at full charging capacity. More power, more heat, that’s just physics and that heat must go somewhere. I didn’t find this one any better or worse than others. As far as charging speed goes, it was fast with my M2 Macbook air, iPhone 14 pro max, and iPad pro, 10.9, when plugged in individually. Charging speeds slowed down a bit when plugged in together, though still good. Frankly, I don’t mind if my devices charge a bit slower, slower means less heat, and less heat is always good in my books. But I am not one to leave charging to the last minute. And last, but not least, both ports are USB C. This is fine for me, but some might miss a USB A port. So all in all, besides that feint power designations issue, I liked this charger.

The Insignia dual USB-C compact wall charger is a portable power adapter measuring 2 inches square by about 1-1/4 inch wide. While small in size, it’s actually quite dense and heavy, weighing about 5 oz. A USB-C cable is not included, so you’ll need to provide your own for charging your devices. The brick has a clean, matte, white design with slightly gabled sides creating a line of texture on either side that’s easy to grab when removing it from the outlet. Its 2-prong plug folds away when not in use and is non-polarized so can be plugged-in in either direction. It is compatible with both 120V and 240V outlets too, so you don’t have to worry about it blowing a fuse when you travel overseas. On the front are two USB-C ports with each port able to output 65W (max) to a single device (20V and 3.25 Amps) when one device is plugged into the adapter. If using both USB-C ports, the top one outputs 20W and the lower 45W, for 65W total output. This makes this wall adapter powerful enough to power and charge most business laptops that accept USB-C charging (Power Delivery aka PD), Chromebooks, and the smaller size Macbook Pro, as well as tablets, smart phones, and digital cameras. In many cases, you’ll be able to charge both a laptop and a smaller device with the notable exceptions of larger business laptops and Macbooks since these requires the full 65 Watts on their own. There are no LED lights to indicate power or status, but that also means it won’t output any light pollution when used in a bedroom at night. The adapter does get quite hot to the touch when it is operating, so you may need to let it cool down a bit before unplugging it from the wall. What I like about this charger is that it’s a lot smaller than my Lenovo laptop’s and Chromebook’s power bricks (65W and 45W respectively); it uses USB-C to USB-C cables which are inexpensive and of which I have plenty. The fold-away plug also means that it packs up nicely into my bag, and there’s little chance of it receiving or causing any damage. The best part is that with a single, compact adapter I can power/charge multiple devices, like my Chromebook and smartphone, or camera and tablet, without taking up an additional outlet, as there’s still plenty of room to plug something else in above this adapter. It also saves me from having to carry multiple power bricks and chargers when I travel. My devices charge quickly, simultaneously, and reliably on this adapter, and it adjusts the amount of power it outputs to whichever power level my devices require.

The Insignia 65W USB-C charger is a great supplemental or replacement charger for your tech devices that charge using USB-C power. Since the charger itself connects via USB-C, the other side of the cable can be Lightning to support Apple products or also native USB-C for newer Apple products or USB-C charging enabled laptops and gadgets. You can even use USB-C to Micro USB to charge older devices. The box shows you the ideal configuration for charging, but it really comes down to simple math and knowing how much wattage the original charger was able to output. Most ultra compact laptops will come with 45W chargers. Most regular slow charging phones or iPhones used 10W chargers. “Fast” charging phones or iPads use 20W chargers. And higher-end performance laptops will use 65W or higher chargers. So, for this 65W charger, you can generally charge and use one higher performance laptop, one ultra compact laptop and one smaller phone or tablet, or two smaller devices like phone/tablet/controller. Some of the items I’ve charged with this charger with no problems so far are: 1. Dell XPS 13” laptop 2. Apple iPad 9th gen 3. Apple iPhone 12 Pro (lightning and MagSafe) 4. PS5 Controller 5. Sony XM4 USB-C headphones 6. USB-C keyboard It really helps when traveling to help consolidate how many chargers I need to carry with me and I can just bring the ones that have usb-c and not worry about usb-a or the whole charger etc. The main downside is you will have to buy usb-c to whatever cables if you don’t already have them. If you want redundancy that may mean picking some additional usb-c cables up but they are cheap and ubiquitous and definitely cheaper to replace than OEM cables or full power adapters. Also a nice part of having the cable plug into the charger is that if the head of the cable is damaged you can just swap out the cable instead of having to buy a whole new charger. I had to do that recently for my XPS 13” and it cost me $30. Lastly, the adapter is kind of large so it may block adjacent power on some power strips. For an outlet, you should be able to plug it in the bottom socket and it won’t block the top, but depending on plug orientation on a power strip you may block some ports and lose access to them. Overall great charger, there’s no lights and bells and whistles but it pops great and the powe Le plugs fold in for portability. Price is right and costs as much as the Apple OEM and this has an extra usb-c port too!

Works as advertised. Another quality product from Insignia. Comes with two Style C USB ports. Cords not included. Make sure you purchase cords capable of 65W throughput. If you charge using 1 plug, you get 65W. With two plugged in at the same time you get 20W + 45W. Utilizing 1 plug this charged my Samsung Galaxy S20 from 2% to 100% in about 1 hour. Also works to charge my laptop (15” Samsung) with no problems. Remember though, if you are charging your laptop and also your phone at the same time, the computer will charge slower as it is sharing the total watt output. The instructions state this 65W version, when also charging a phone at the same time, is good up to 14” screen. It appears to me it at least maintains, if not slowly charges my laptop while also charging my phone. But when I unplug the phone, the charger quickly charges the laptop. Works great and I love having two connections on one plug, great for when my wife and I charge our phones at the same time, no more fighting for outlet space.

So this isn’t the smallest USB C charger, so if size matters the most to you there might be better ones out there for you but it is the size as the standard charging brick that comes with a lot of USB C devices that charge that still come with charging bricks and it is 65W as well as has two ports which is game changing. USB C can be a confusing standard which cords work for what can be frustrating as many aren’t labeled, if you are around 30W this really isn’t an issue, so if you are trying to charge your mac book or Chromebook on one port and a phone on the other this really isn’t an issue. However, if you have a more power hungry device, this can start to matter. I have a gaming PC that can work with USB C; so when I’m not planning on serious gaming just having a 65W charger is perfect; also my work laptop prefers 45W to 30W and complains to me that I don’t have a good charger when I only use a 30W one, this fixes that issue for me as well. Back to the cords, make sure your cord can support 65W, otherwise you will not the 65W you want or need. I grabbed a few standard cord just to test the theory and yes, if the cord isn’t rated for more than 30W or 45W that is all you will get out of it. 65W is also the total power available, if you want 65W to one device plug it into the bottom port and don’t plug anything else in. Saying all that, this is perfect for me, I have a cord that splits into an lightning port and USB C (as well as micro USB but that sits empty almost all the time) and then another 100W USB C cord for work. This plug enables me to plug my iPhone, android phone, and laptop in and charge all of them at the same time with only one brick. The laptop takes 30-45W and the iPhone and android fight over the remainder which is more than enough to keep them topped off at work or wherever I am plugged in at. I love that there are tiny pictures associated with the ports, I didn’t have to get in the manual to figure out which port to use. Pros: - 65W output capable (tested) - Automatically and smartly allocates power to all ports - Pictures showing which port to use - Folding AC prongs for compactness - 2 USB C ports - Same size as most OEM adapters Cons: - Same size as most OEM adapters - Doesn’t come with a cord

Verdict. This Insignia 65W USB-C wall charger delivers the charging you need for a full-size laptop, and one additional device, with the ability to charge both at the same time depending on power requirement. The dual capacity of this wall charger makes it more convenient than all stock laptop power adapters. Initial impressions. It looks like a standard power adapter, but it has two USB-Connectors: one with a phone icon, and one with a laptop icon. It is about the same size and weight as other laptop power adapters. Setup. No setup was necessary to use this wall plug. You can use the existing USB-C cable that came with your laptop to connect to this power adapter, or purchase new cables so you can have a full set of a spare charger. Laptop charging. I currently use this adapter to power a MacBook Pro 13” and it works perfectly. There are no error messages on the laptops screen, and the computer appears to charge at the same speed as with the original charger. When charging only a laptop, the entire 65W is available for the computer. Dual charging. This power plug comes with a nice quick setup guide that breaks down the power distribution of the wall plug. When using two devices, 20W are dedicated to the phone connection and 45W to the laptop connection. When dual charging, you can expect the laptop to charge slower than when charging the laptop only. The dual charging capability is by far the best selling point of the wall plug. With this wall plug, you could reduce the chargers you take with you when you leave the house, or always have the benefit of a back-up or extra charging port. Things I like: - Dual connector, to charge two devices at the same time - In some cases, it’s a better deal than original chargers, specially when considering the extra charging port - Smart power distribution between the two charging ports - The white color goes well with a certain brand of laptops, tablets, and smart phones Things I don’t like: - Like other power adapters, it gets pretty warm Overall, this is a very nice power adapter, with the added functionality of an extra charging port. If you need a back-up or travel power adapter for your computer, this is a great one.

## Design Thankfully, it appears USB-C is becoming more and more the standard for charging for everything from phones to laptops. This two port charger from Insignia features two USB-C ports on the front and foldable AC prongs which makes this charger nice for traveling or for slipping into your laptop bag. The charger’s dimensions are 2.2 x 1.3 x 2.1 in and weighs 0.24 pounds. ## Performance This charger does get warm in use and what some may consider “hot,” but this is normal for many laptop chargers, especially the smaller they are. It provided the correct voltage to my Dell XPS laptop and also charged my Acer R13 Chromebook which has been finicky with other USB-C chargers. The maximum power output per port varies depending if one or both ports are in use. The charger divides the power up this way so most laptops will still get enough power to charge while diverting some power to smaller devices like a smartphone or earbuds so they can charge at the same time. ### One Port Use If only one port is in use, you get the full 65 watts from this charger, and the following voltages and amps are supported. 5V 3A 9V 3A 15V 3A 20V 3.25A (PPS) 3.3-21V/3.25A ### Double Port Use If both ports are in use, then the bottom port will get 45 watts while the top port will get 20 watts. The 20 watt port (top) will output enough for smaller devices like phones, many tablets/iPads, and earbuds/AirPods. It will output up to: 5V 3A 9v 2.22A (PPS) 3.3-11V/2.2A The 45 watt port (bottom) will output enough for most laptops like the MacBook Air M1 (in fact, it only comes with a 30 watt charger). Even if your laptop requires more power, it may still “slow” charge with 45 watts if it is off or in sleep mode while connected. It will output up to: 5V 3A 9V 3A 15V 3A 20V 2.25A (PPS) 3.3-16V/3A Please note that when both ports are in use, you likely will not be able to charge two laptops at the same time since 20 watts is not enough for most laptops. ## Summary Overall, this is a handy travel charger with its foldable prongs and its ability to divide up its power to charge a phone and a laptop at the same time.

As devices are moving to only using USB C, Insignia provides a great charger that will last. The Insignia 65W Dual Port USB C charger, while a little on the larger side of compact, helps to charge several devices quicker. Although there are small pictures (one of a computer and another of a smartphone) one above and another below each USB C port, both ports are able to charge your device quickly. If only one cable is connected to the charger, it's max output is 65 watts (doesn't matter to which port a cable is connected to). If two cables are connected to both ports on the charger, the top port provides a max output of 20 watts and the bottom port a max of 45 watts. Note: Even if two cables are connected to the two parts on the charger, if only one is in use, it will detect this and output the max 65W to the one cable in use. Devices like a MacBook or other computers that can be charged via USB C can truly take advantage of the full 65W this charger provides. I found it very convenient to be able to take one charger on trips or while on the go and still be able to quick charge my phone, laptop, Nintendo Switch, and tablet all from the same charger. Overall, I loved having an additional charger that can charge multiple devices quickly. I recommend this charger for those looking to not have to carry or disconnect their laptop or phone charger every time they go out (as long as it supports USB C charging) and still achieve quick charging results.

Really convenient charger for laptop and mobile devices. I’ve included the specific charging configurations in the photo section. Overall, it does appear to charge at the advertised speeds, just make sure you have a cable that can handle the 65W supply which the only phones I can recall right now that has that currently are the OnePlus phones; pretty sure the Galaxy S22 Ultra is 45w, but not sure about the S22 and S22+. Also, that 45w capability does not come with charger in the box and neither is the cable included capable. I am using Anker’s 100W 6ft charging cable and am getting the charging times I am used for both single charge use for laptop and dual charge use for dual when charging my Note 20 and Tab S7…however in dual use they do not charge at the Super Fast (25W) but the Fast Charging (18W I think). The device uses Programmable Power Supply (PPS) to regulate the charging speeds, which is a part of the USB 3.0 Power Delivery protocol. I don’t always charge my devices…but when I do, I only use Insignia. And with the Insignia NS-PW36C2W22 I’ve never felt more free while tethered to the wall!

This is a very versatile charger that is compact in size and great for taking with you on the go. The charger has dual USB-C ports, but the vables are not provided. This charger can be used for pretty much anything that requires a USB-C charger. I have been using this to charge my laptop and my kids chromebooks for school and get them fully charged quickly. One thing I noticed that I get superfast charging on my samsung devices that support it and get a full charge in about 2 hours. The total output on this charger is about 65W, one port is 20W and the other is 45W. The charger is compact, its about 2.1 x 2.1 x 1.2 inches. This is small enough to fit into pocket. This works best anything from Macbook Pro, Dell Laptops(Tested), HP laptops(Tested), Tablets(Tested), Android Smartphones (Tested), and even headphones. I have been primarily using this to charge my smartphones and my kids Chomebooks for school because this one plug has replaced two brick chargers for two devices. Overall, its a great product and i would highly recommend it.

The Insignia - 65W Dual Port USB-C Compact Wall Charger is a fantastic charger. I will start my review by saying not all USB -C cables are capable of 65-Watts of charging so make sure you are using an appropriate cable that is rated for 65-Watts or more. If not, you will only receive the highest wattage for the cable you are using. With that said, I have tested this charger on my MacBook, HP laptop, ROG gaming laptop and an Acer Chromebook using a 100-watt USB-C cable. On every device It performed as advertised. It never got hot, and it maintained (and sometimes exceeded) a consistent 65-watt charge. When charging two devices it splits power to forty-five watts max on the laptop port, which is still enough to charge most USB-C laptops and 20 Watts on the phone port, which is still enough to charge almost every phone very fast. My only complaint would be that it looks plain. However, it is what is on the inside that matters and on the inside of this thing hides a beast of charging capability. Overall, I like it and highly recommend it.

works better than the original cord ever did very satisfied had help selecting this route was not the cheapest but it has withstood tiime so much better than cheaper options. My computer has touch screen uses voltage so this worked for that very happy.

At the sales price of $22.99, as of this writing, it's a really great deal. The charger works perfectly. Correct charging speeds on my 25w + 15w devices used at same time. In regards to Samsung Fast Charging(15w) and Super Fast Charging(25w)... I'm making this much more complicated than need be...sorry If you have two 25w Super Fast Charging devices you will only get 25w Super Fast on one device, the other will only be Fast Charging 15w. If you have a Super Fast Charging 25w device and a Fast Charging 15w device, you must plug the devices in the correct port or they will both drop down to Fast Charging 15w. For PD 3.0 PPS(which is what Samsung uses) when using both ports, the output is port one 45w max, port two 20w max

I am hard on my phone’s battery because of several apps. I bought a large external battery that I use to keep the phone’s battery charged until it’s also exhausted. This was the only product Best Buy had that met the demands to charge the external battery. Yes, I realize this was in the department with the computer accessories and not phone accessories.

I want to start with the charging. Every device I tried worked with no issues. All registered with fast charging no issues with compatibility. A great added feature is the dual wattage. You have a dedicated port for the higher wattage devices so you wont have to always throw a lot of watts at a device that doesn’t require it. I will add that the folding wall prongs are a plus in my book. It does allow for easier portability however the size is a bit on the bigger side. Of course its needed for the technology used to make everything possible. Overall I would buy another one without looking for another brand. I may look for a little higher wattage for laptops but thats the only change. I know you’ll enjoy.
