I bought this Insignia HDMI-to-VGA adapter to hook up my laptop to an older monitor, and it works perfectly. It was plug-and-play with no setup needed, and the picture quality has been clear and steady. The adapter feels well-made and hasn’t given me any issues so far. Simple, reliable, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

I have a monitor with DVI and VGA connections to a docking station. Only this VGA to HDMI cord was able to get the monitor to display through to the HP docking station. The DVI to display port connection was unable to display with the dock.

The product arrived quickly and worked flawlessly. We had purchased a new laptop that was used for PowerPoint presentations. Our projector did not have an HDMI input and the laptop didn’t have a VGA output. The first thing I noticed was this was a solidly built product. It seems very durable. We chose the pigtail type adapter rather than a dongle style. From my viewpoint it would be less likely to damage this type of adapter if the VGA cable was accidentally pulled on. We connected the adapter between the laptop and the VGA cable. The laptop immediately identified the make/model of our projector. All we had to do was open PowerPoint, load the presentation and start the slideshow. We just leave the adapter connected to the VGA cable when storing things back into the projector case. We couldn’t be more satisfied with the product.

I bought this VGA to HDMI adapter to use my older HP 17" monitor, which fits nicely in a computer nook. The new PC came with an HDMI connector for the newer monitors. I couldn't see spending money for a monitor when this older model works perfectly. It's an LCD type display, great color and refresh is quite adequate for all our needs. The adapter is perfect for this application. The cable is about 6" or so, which is fine for enough length to interface with the monitor VGA cable. The Insignia adapter is well designed, and is powered through the HDMI interface, to power the internal chip, etc..The price was very good, and an economical way to get the system up and running.

I use classic consoles with vga crt monitors, whuch usually recquire going to hdmi first. These work with all use cases, can be used with a power source or without, and have audio support. They have also consistently worked well.
