A: If you bought the switch new, it comes with everything you need to hook up to the tv.
A: Yeah as it turns out this is some false advertising on this thing, it's a glorified USB-C charger. It doesn't put out enough power to actually keep the Switch charged while you're using it connected to the TV, so it simply doesn't work with the Dock. Best to return it and buy a Nintendo charger + adapter. It doesn't have to be the original one that came with your Switch if yours broke or got lost, but it does need to be the OEM because of the power required.
A: no. this thing is crap. it does 5V @ 2.1A only via the wallwart and car adapter. don't try to fit it in your bag- get a different product.

A: This only controls the Switch. There is a separate charger for the Joy cons.
