I would not consider myself an audiofile by any means but I really try to aim for products that give me a good, full sound for listening to music and watching movies and shows. I bought two of the speakers to use as a stereo system but also as a makeshift home theater system. I could not be more satisfied with the speakers. Versus my TV speakers watching movies is like I’m in a movie theater as for me it produces room filling sound when stereo paired. For fairness sake I don’t believe it can be a full replacement for a home theater system but I think it’s a great way to get started in that for a relatively inexpensive cost. I have them paired to my Apple TV. I also use the speakers for listening to music and working out on the go. It really helps me hear my workout music better and the fact that the battery life is so long means I can almost go a week straight without needing to charge them since the battery life lasts about 40 hours per speaker.

So bought this to take to beach. Connected as soona I got home. Sounds good and easy to pair. Also have insignia Bluetooth adapter with the use of my 5.1 receiver for my shed. I get into trouble with neighbors and wife. So that is a good thing in my book. If you want to take control of sound effects go through phone settings or app settings. So far super happy. P.S. get extended warranty just in case.

I actually give it 4.5 stars. It works great, but the only issue I have is the you can't see the buttons on the top of the speaker if you're in a lower light setting. You have to treat the buttons like brail. Otherwise, it sounds good and is easy to connect. It also definitely has good volume in case you need it to be louder. Overall, I'm happy with it.

First two times using the speaker were great, 0 complaints. During my third use my girlfriend dropped it and it feel off my balcony and proceeded to fall a total of 11 stories. That’s 110 feet for those who don’t know. It feel in a grassy by the pool which was closed till morning. The next morning I walked up to it to find it soaking wet but intact. The speaker works just fine and only a minor scratch on the back. I highly recommend this speaker and now all insignia products.

For its modest size, this device kicks out a pretty big sound. It is easy to understand how to pair it up and to operate. A friend had a similar one, which gave me the inspiration to get this one. But this Insignia blows it away.

Insignia Sonic Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a great powerful speaker, small but mighty, It has the sound of a giant speaker. The sound that comes out of this blue tooth is unbelievable. It's worth the value! You can enjoy it at your work desk, while washing dishes, or entertaining while playing some bid whiz or spades. Inexpensive and cute. It makes the perfect gift for someone on the go!

I was initially surprised at the size of the speaker- it was a little smaller than expected. But when I turned it on, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sound and it doesn’t require a high volume setting to deliver quality sound effect. Thank you Best Buy!

This speaker is surprisingly loud for its size. I wasn't expecting much at first but I've come to love it. I use it as a speaker for my carry around projector and for my PC when I'm viewing content and it gets the job done.

Great sounding speaker. I’m giving it a 3 because I tried to pair it with the same model speaker to get a better sound. It became to much of a hassle. It’s a great sounding speaker by itself though.

The Insignia Sonic Portable Speaker, is a lightweight, water resistant IPX5 Bluetooth speaker. The setup is very easy when turned on for the first time it will be in pairing mode automatically. In the specifications the battery is rated at 40hrs. The speaker is about the size of the Beats Pill, a little bit flatter, it is very light and sounds very loud. The color is a matte black and the front mesh seems to be made of fabric. On the back of the speaker it has a compartment that holds the mini USB connector and AUX port. On the top it has 5 buttons, the power, play/phone, volume +/-, and the pairing button. I was surprised how loud this speaker was for its size, however I did notice when you are playing at max volume it sounds a little muffled. Below the max level the sound is very clear, but it also lack of bass. I paired this speaker to an Android device, in the Bluetooth settings you can check this speaker battery level which I see that very useful. I received a few phone calls on this speaker and it sounds very well, the person on the other end were able to hear me loud and clear. In the specifications it says the range is about 33 feat, I was able to do a little over 50 feet and to my surprise it worked. The speaker feels good in the hand and is well made, is not like you are going to be holding it but it is worth mentioning. In the box it comes with the speaker, manual and a small mini USB charging cable. Overall at this price point this a very good speaker with some good features and the only con is the lack of bass.

I picked up the insignia Bluetooth speaker on Mother’s Day and I checked in the store to make sure it was not faulty. Now here I am 10pm Monday to charge it back up. As soon as I plugged it in the back of the speaker the silver piece slipped right inside of the speaker. Now there is no way to charge it and I wanted to listen to music before I go to sleep. Good grief. It should have cost $1 instead of 39.99 for the way it is manufactured. Eeeew. I will definitely be returning this cheap product. I pray there is a replacement if not a refund is definitely due. It didn’t even come with the adapter to plug into the outlet.

The Insignia Sonic portable Bluetooth speaker is compact and easy to toss in a bag to carry around. The design is a bit boring with a black matte back and black mesh fabric type of material. I wasn’t impressed with the build quality and it appears that the fabric mesh is not put on straight, I don’t know if that is the design or not, but it does look like it is put on crooked. The speaker is water resistant and rated at IPX5, which means that it will be protected from water projected from a nozzle. In the packaging you get a small USB type A to mini cable for charging and it took me about 4 hours to fully charge mine using a 3.2Amp charger that is built into my electrical outlet (Insignia brand as well). The sound quality is decent, and it does not have very much bass to it and when you crank it up the sound does get distorted. Pairing it with my Galaxy Note10+ was easy and straight forward using Bluetooth, there is no NFC option that you see on many devices these days. The battery life so far has been good and I do feel that it will last close to the rated 40 hours they the manufacturer claims. Overall this is a decent speaker for the price and you really shouldn’t expect too much from it. If this is your first BT speaker, then you might enjoy it, but if you have some other high end (more expensive) speakers, you will be disappointed. The ONLY thing I don’t like about this is that it still uses an old-fashioned micro-USB charging port. Everything else about this speaker is fantastic - good sound balance and presence of bass, good volume output, good battery life (I don’t use it that frequently but I rarely have to think about recharging it at inconvenient times), and good size that’s easy to transport.
