A: No you do not need one but it can enhance movies, music, and video games. Think of a sound bar as a HiFi stereo hooked up to your TV

A: The soundbar comes with the power cable, a 3.5mm cable, and a set of red/white RCA audio cables. You should be able to connect everything up using these cables, though this will depend on the connections of your TV. I have it connected via RCA to my tv, but when I want to stream music to it from my phone, I pair my phone to it via Bluetooth wirelessly
