A: Actual width of this TV stand shelf is 41 1/4" My 50" TV max distance between end of legs is 40". So it fits close. To make sure TV doesn't drop to the end of the stand I glued to the TV legs small pieces of double sided adhesive tape
A: Yes, but no tools are required. The shelves and supports are held together with good quality twist-on screws. Very quick and easy assembly. This is coming from someone who hates to assemble furniture, too.

A: Up to a 50 inch tv. Up to 50 pounds. Middle shelf will support 40 pounds and bottom shelf another 50 lbs. Very sturdy construction with 6 legs. Plenty of space and air for receivers/amplifiers etc. to breathe. Easy assembly.
Q: Could I put a 55 in tv on it ?
A: The legs of your TV are spaced out beyond the surface of the stand. A 50" is the max on this stand!
A: I do not know about your model I know I bought a 50" Toshibia and the legs were to far apart to fit on the stand.
